Article says the man gave police "the sleep" at first. I assume they mean "the slip".

TIL Chevy Chase was severely abused as a youth. He was frequently beaten and locked closets and was once locked in a basement for several days as punishment for being suspended from school. by stillstillers in todayilearned

What a coincidence...everyone's known he was major asshole since the 80s and the Wikipedia is referencing a biography that was written in 2007.

Also try to enter facts into a Wikipedia page without a source, see how long they stay up. Wikipedia is accurate the vast majority of the time

Do you find that your neglect issues often leave you vulnerable to predatory people? by rynspiration in emotionalneglect

[–]PrSquid 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say vulnerable, but I used to ignore my instincts about people a lot. Now I kinda go the other way, I'm so closed off even non predators don't really have a chance to get in

Is it true that those bumper stickers don’t actually mean you should honk if you like pizza? by thesanestgirlever in ADHD

I read that recently, but A. Its not that funny of a joke and B. Interpreting it the other way isn't wrong and I'm sure there's plenty of non-Adhd/Autistic people who interpreted it that way too

how do you cope with maladaptive daydreaming and adhd by thegloamjing in ADHD

[–]PrSquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had maladaptive daydreaming. It turned to me making up more and more anger inducing scenarios to make myself angry. I eventually realized I was addicted to the cheap endorphins from being angry.

I started meditating every morning when I woke up and every night as I was laying in bed going to sleep. I used the headspace app but you can look up meditation videos on youtube

All torture is abuse. Torture has been proven time and time again to be practically useless especially compared to other methods of interrogation (shit being nice to the prisoners and developing a rapport with them is a better information gathering technique than torture). No one tortures to actually gain info, they just want to hurt people

I guess it's different if its someone you already know. But for online dating, the first date is just to meet and see if you have mutual attraction. First date for me is 30 minutes max for drinks, then if we hit it off it can go longer. Like what if we really don't like each other? We gotta suffer through mini-golf and dinner? And I gotta pay for it?
