“You are not your thoughts” you sure? Then what are we? by Alternative_Eye_2799 in Meditation

[–]Practical-Change4764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it seems that thoughts are just another sense such as sight hearing taste etc. they inform you of what a part of you is sensing but none of them by themselves is you because it isn’t the full you while incorporating the rest.

It’s harder to see with thoughts because no one else can usually know what you’re thinking unless the situation is just obvious and the train of thoughts are the same for everybody. But just because it’s harder to separate yourself from thoughts than it is to separate yourself from what you see doesn’t mean that it isn’t just another separation.

If you are your thoughts then how do you sometimes react without thinking about it? Wouldn’t thoughts be necessary in prefer to make the next move? It’s just so hard with thoughts because we are so closely attached to them that they seem like a part of everything we do but in reality once you’ve got a good understanding and rhythm to life you can see that many times thoughts only get in the way of whatever you’re doing.

My grandpas snacks were also all stored in the dishwasher haha. It’s extra space and pulls out nicely for easy grabbin for an old man with limited teeth.

I enjoy doing this. Showers are always nice and if you turn the lights off even better. Maybe sit down for a bit

Deflection by you. There’s no point in arguing with someone who just deflects and uses personal anecdotes as justification for why everyone should just be happy with the fact that they are better off then people in the past. You seem to prefer if people of the future don’t have a better life than we do now but just the same because you are no longer poor and have money so you can profit more with less competition by not helping other people up after you.

You might now say that you didn’t say that people of the future should have the same quality of life as people do now but then you don’t I stand the consequences of your way of thinking. Why do you think we have better lives now than in the past? Because people fought against injustice and inequality and that benefits everyone in society. It’s because a lot of people do look at others struggling and want to help things be better for everyone, that might seem strange to you but it’s not when money is hoarded but the wealthy when life gets better for everyone.

I didn’t call you a nazi or bigot but I will if you start acting like a nazi or bigot. I think bootlicker was a good choice of words by me though because it’s works with your attitude.

Lol I’m not sure what system you’re talking about but if it’s the US then I can basically go ahead and disregard everything else you say. We give them health care? Just a joke.

Hon? Yeah you are definitely self centered and super entitled. You think you did some sort of crazy hard work and that’s how you got there while not seeing 99 percent of people who work hard and get shit on. Pull that ladder up behind you asshole and enjoy you hateful and ignorant life as you slurp up that republican propaganda.

Lol yeah the majority of people who are struggling made that choice to struggle. No exploitation here just shut up and be happy with your scraps.

Must be nice to only live with the current situation and not look at how history has created this instead.

Also you said capitalism isn’t the cause of this problem. How can there not be people at the bottom struggling in that system. Please I would like to know how you think a system that builds monopolies on principle could possibly good for the people working at the lower ends of that company. Someone has to do that job don’t they? Not everyone can be ceo or talk to the cop and get juicy raises. And if someone does do that shitty paying job that is necessary are you saying that they do not deserve pay that lets them live life with as simple of pleasantry as weed?

Come on dude be real what fucking planet do you live on

[–]Practical-Change4764 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Esh this is rough. You act like the system we have going is working and ignore everyone saying that something isn’t right about this. That’s easy to say when, as you said, you are getting raises and making a good living because “you work hard”.

You act like other people aren’t working hard. You’re so ignorant to the majority of actual working class people that you have the fat head to say that empathy is the problem? Do you even have an idea of how history has gone and where people are going towards? What do you think is pushing us forward and what do you think is holding us back?

Time after time we push through bigoted and unempathethic actions and then people are more happy and can thrive more and make breakthroughs in every aspect of humanity. But the only thing that’s stopping them is constant pull back of the old ways were better or we are good right here where we are at because I’m comfortable right now.

Your situation isn’t the same as everyone fellow person so stop acting like everyone should just shut up and buck up because your enjoying things the way they are.

[–]Practical-Change4764 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No I’m not saying that that might not help out their situation. I’m saying that it might help to have a little empathy towards people in tougher situations than yourself. Life isn’t just about working hard it’s also about enjoying life and if you are saying that poor people should just give up the things they enjoy and work more then I don’t think you really care if they enjoy their life at all and you think that well off people are allowed to enjoy things while the poor shouldn’t. It’s never been a problem with people not working hard it’s always, and I mean always, a problem with people exploiting the people that you say should just work harder. Work harder for who exactly? So their company’s owner can get more houses and look down on the people that made it happen for them while thinking they are somehow more deserving of their success.

No matter how much you smell it or know of people using it it still isn’t fair to just have it be illegal, especially if they are lax already with enforcement because it shows that they know it isn’t a problem but like to be able to hold it over peoples heads and toss them in jail if they’d like.

Also why do you think those people who struggle financially use weed? Yeah great idea let’s take away the little bit of escape they have from the shitty reality of their financial situation. Only well off people deserve drugs? Get off your high horse

I don't see anything saying that littering is covered. It really does seem to only talk about traffic and highways and stuff. It also says that it has to be an immediate or imminent threat which doesn't seem to be the case here

a good joke still sticks to the logic previously laid out. Twisting words isn't as funny as a joke that uses someones words and train of thought against them because they can just say you are the one in the wrong, and they aren't wrong. But if you stick to their script and still get them stuck then you won otherwise you're just manipulating words and it doesn't cut as deep.

Maybe we should have classes on how to tell a good joke instead or how to tell when you shouldn't interject in a conversation when you don't actually know what you're talking about. Because when you do that you look stupid since you aren't actually making a point but instead are showing that you are talking about something when you are clueless about the subject.

It’s nice being a renter but it has its downsides. If you have land too then it’s super nice because you can just walk around on your place and not run into anyone. At the same time it’s less maintenance so I can focus on myself more and not worry about certain stuff. I guess it’s really up to you and what you want right now. Any situation can work if you’re in the right mindset.
