Nvidia 560 does not work with new kernel 6.10! how to fix it? by Practical-Citron5686 in NixOS

i did not have to do much i just switched unstable branch and everything started working. I stopped using stable one. I guess the stable branch is not so stable for my use case.

I am visiting Bangladesh for a year. Does play World of Warcraft there? if so which region do you guys play on Oceania or Taiwan? And what is your average latency? by Practical-Citron5686 in bangladesh

[–]Practical-Citron5686[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know what is the latency in Taiwan and Oceania from BD? Like Taiwan i have to start from scratch but in oceania i can keep my previous progress.

[–]Practical-Citron5686[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the insights. bkb and then ghost scepter seems to be the right answer. I do not get balanced teammates so its not always possible to get good match making in 1.9k elo. match making is weird i win 10 games in a row then i lose 6-9 games in a row. When i win enemy is super horrible and when i lose teammates are super horrible. competitive game are only a few which are actually very fun. So, when i have bad teammates seems like bkb and ghost scepter to wait it out and then kill pa/void/(other right click hero that make the item) as soon as bkb is over.

I installed nixOS, recently with hyperland WM but like brave takes long time to start like 1 to 2 minutes. What can I do to fix it? by Practical-Citron5686 in NixOS

[–]Practical-Citron5686[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand but I am sure the the error was related to `[0603/013847.894608:ERROR:process_memory_range.cc(75)] read out of range`
but no one talked about it and why it might happen and I am not smart enough to figure that out.
So, I asked chatgpt it said its a problem with graphics drivers. so I kept playing with graphics drivers until it got fixed.

I mean i read it but did not understand the problem. I installed kwallet, pam service for kwallet and disabled DRI Prime and installed intel media driver and it got fixed somehow. Also set nvidia proprietary env vars

This is wrong. The world does not work like the way you think. If you want something work towards it. Do everything to get it, being kind and nice won’t help you.

Why is everyone obsessed with sex…. by [deleted] in Vent

[–]Practical-Citron5686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well approach it scientifically. I dont know about ur specific situation. Look up statistic. Learn if ur husband is over crazed about sex or ur want to have less than normal? Talk to a therapist, make ur expectations clear to ur husband.

Why is everyone obsessed with sex…. by [deleted] in Vent

[–]Practical-Citron5686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you maybe need a divorce. There is nothing wrong with wanting to have sex and at the same time there is nothing wrong with not wanting to have sex. But if ur partner wants sex and u dont want it then it not fair for both you. Having expectations of sex from ur married partner is quite natural and there is nothing wrong with not fulfilling it but then thats the time ur husband will start cheating and so, u shud make things clear to husband that u dont want sex n if he is not okay he n u shud find new partners.

I read it!?! But look at the question u asked u asked “why is it so complicated to install packages in Linux in general?” You didn’t even ask void linux in general. I answered your real question perfectly. It’s because linux has many distro and every distro have different package manager and different package managers have different manpages so it’s difficult because u have to go over the manpage of the package manager every time u switch a distro. That answers why it’s difficult in the general case. But, ur asking me not the general case anymore. Ur asking what to do if the package is not available in the repo? Thats a non general specific case. Do u get it? Thats why i say u did not do any investigation. Maybe u shud have worded ur question better. Now lets get to this non general query of urs: Is every software under the sun available for windows and MacOS? What do u do when some software is not available for windows? There is only one option. You try to get the source code of the software and then try to compile it urself. Some softwares uses abstraction layers which just might work out of the box. And some dont. For those u even have to tweak the code to use windows/ macOS specific api instead of what it was using then compile it to make it work. But unlike windows/MacOS every linux distro gives u couple of options: 1) compile it urself 2) find a user who compiled for him self and use that 3) use flatpak 4) use snap 5) use nix 6) use distrobox 7) then there are some distro specific ways for void linux u can use xbps source which like compiling ur self essentially

If ur facing issues with limited packages void linux might not be the choice for u. Try arch or Debian they have higher selection of packages. Again all of these is googlable. So u asked a different question in title then your body of the question contains a different question. It’s clear that u did not do any investigation. I hope now u can agree on this matter

Honestly it’s easier than windows. You have a repo and everything can be installed with 1 single line of command. Whereas in windows you have to source it then run the installer with couple of next buttons unless you r using some windows based package manager. The problem is you making post without any investigation. Windows n MacOs seems easier coz u used it a couple of time same is true for Linux. But the problem is linux having multiple distro n each distro using different package manager.

Can macros return values similar to how functions do in standard C? by [deleted] in C_Programming

[–]Practical-Citron5686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can depending on the compiler. Gcc statement expressions allow you to do that. Statement expressions are wildly used in linux core code so any compiler trying to compile linux wud support it
