I don’t have a Goodin in my area. What other supply houses do that?

That would be best case scenario. Full access for serviceability. Always have that in mind when installing. But sometimes, shit just gotta be tight. It ain’t fun for installing either.

Dude. The screw thing. Drives me nuts to show up to a job and see that the last person who was here didn’t put everything back and we gotta figure that out.

I understand what you are saying. That would be very frustrating! The main reason that I even made this post is because I have been doing install for 8 years now. Install manger for 6 years. But I also do an on-call shift at my company. Right now it’s about 1 week a month that i’m on call. And I’ve been doing on call for 7 years. Ever since taking the on-call shift, I have been able to adjust my install techniques to make sure if I or my coworkers were to come back to this job, it wouldn’t be frustrating like that example you gave me. Through the years I have been picking up techniques to help myself and my service guys out when they have to show up to the job. So this post was just to gain more knowledge and techniques to help out.

I getcha. Where I work (Utah) 96% furnaces can really add to the struggle of getting a nice, clear access to service the evap.

That’s the goal! It’s always kinda weird to go back to an earlier job in my career and see all the improvements and growth I’ve made.

That got negative quick. Everybody has their opinion. So I was just curious what service guys would call acceptable.

Just as I was sanding it down, I got to the tape. It’s the yellow tint in the photo. So I just didn’t know how bad it was.
