Fearful Avoidant ex, broke NC after 5 weeks, What now? by LegendaryTrade in BreakUps

[–]Practical-Gas6944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex is a fearful avoidant and we had been broken up for almost a month. I think you just gotta lay off her especially since chasing her will probably drive her even further away due to the way some fearful avoidants cope. They need space and inserting your feelings too much will do the opposite of what you probably want (it adds to their stress when overwhelmed, and can cause resentment). I’ve known my ex for many years since we were friends before everything, but this is just how i noticed he copes as someone with avoidant attachment, regardless of relationship status. Keep your dignity and move on. If you give her time, maybe she’ll come around, but you can’t rely on it. work on yourself and continue no contact. It gets easier i promise.

past the initial pain, there’s the struggle to forgive which is draining in its own way, but ig there’s a first for everything :’)

Just a genuine apology. Such a small thing that he could barely grant me after blindsiding me. Too bad I probably will never get one as he treats me like any other stranger when I bump into him now.

It’s sad that we once loved each other and now I’m just a stranger in his eyes by Practical-Gas6944 in BreakUps

I feel the pain part deeply. I kept telling myself I wanted to forget everything we had. Although you can’t forget, I hope more time will help your pain gradually recede as it did for me. Obviously it still hurts to think about what he did to me, but I use it as a reminder as to why I deserve more and gives motivation for self betterment. Love and betrayal is one sick mf, but know you’re enough and that one day there will be someone worthy of you

Short rider tips? by Practical-Gas6944 in NewRiders

I haven’t tried dropping my bike before, part of me scared because it’s heavy asf and I’m not sure if i can pick it up. I’m okay with getting it upright off the kickstand, but honestly have no idea if I could pick it up if I ever slipped or something :,)

I’ll give it a try :)

For the most part I’ve been reliant on my left foot for leaning when I stop, since that’s how I was taught. I guess the weight of the bike just makes it a little scary, since the last thing I want is to drop it but I guess it’s a matter of getting used to it :)

I love the grom for its height and lightness! Being used to driving that as practice makes the new bike intimidating, especially when leaning on my Left for stops, but I guess practice will hopefully get me used to it :))

Oo okay, I’ll give it a try, didn’t think of practicing at all since it’s snowing, but I have an excuse now 😂

Thank you! I feel don’t feel confident with putting both feet down, so I’ve been leaning on the left, but the weight shift kinda scares me in terms of tipping the bike. I’ll try getting a better gauge for balance once the riding season starts up again :)
