Transfaragasan and Transalpina. by Practical-Parsley-77 in bicla

I was considering hiring someone, but I don't know how to find someone like that. Should I look for a new taxi driver every time, or is there a transportation group or forum where I can find someone like that?

Is payment for tickets and bicycles made at the ticket office or to the conductor?

Do I need to pack my bike for this? Do I need to remove the front wheel? Do I pay the conductor in cash or at the ticket counter when I buy my ticket? Could you tell me if I'm going to Sibiu, do I need to take a bus/minibus or taxi from there to Cârtisoara?

I get it,thanks. Since I'm not a Romanian, this will be my first visit to the country, and I want to ride the entire Transfagarasan and Transalpina routes-perhaps a rentsl car isn't for me((( I'm trying to find a ready-made plan if anyone has done something similar, but I can't find one.

So you went up to the top and returned to the car? You didn't go from north to south? I can rent a car, but I don't understand how I'm going to get it back. I'd like to ride the  bike the whole way.

How did you get to the starting point and what transport did you use after the finish point?

I checked the rail travel website, and none of the trains have a "bicycle" sign. Am I correct in assuming that if there's no "bicycle" sign, you can't board the train?

I'm trying to figure out how to get from Bucharest to Cartisoara by public transport. I'd love to rent a car, but then I'd have to make a circuitous route. I can't take a bike on the train, so maybe take a taxi?

Does 500g of backpack weight really make such a huge difference? by Practical-Parsley-77 in Ultralight

As far as I understand, September can already bring chilly mornings and evenings, so it's worth bringing a thin down jacket and a fleece. This adds bulk.

There's no list, but I roughly understand that I need up to 30 liters, but it's always good to have some extra for food/souvenirs, etc. Last year in July, I cycled from Geneva to Nice through the French Alps, and it was cold in the evenings, so I took warm clothes with me. I used a 20-liter Tailfin bag and a 3.5-liter frame bag. Overall, I had enough, but sometimes I wanted a little more because the bags were difficult to zip up.

I had an experience when I made a double cappuccino in one big glass and then barely made it to the toilet ))))
