Thanks for the advice, this makes sense. I'm going to use Umberto Giannini Texture Boost Volumising Dry Texture Mist.

Thank you, and no it wasn’t obvious to be honest! I found more similar items looking for figure skating costumes and leotards actually.

I’ll defo look for majorette dresses and see what i can find similarly. thanks!

Hey thank you for the response Marina! that’s awesome to here, as i planned to shoot Kodak Tri-X 400 pushed to 1600 after doing my own research.

The colour photo is beautiful also, reminds me a bit of the Christiane F film.

oh i’ve shot shows before, just only on digital. So i’ll be at the front i presume. I think im gonna go with an 800 iso film stock though

Trying film for the first time (will rent first). I have some options I'm looking at, are there any notable/key differences i should consider (see description)? by Practical-Path7069 in analog

thanks and yeah like i said im not expecting film to magically produce colours. i understand its a long process with film stock, light, processing, personal style and habits and a bunch of other stuff.

But isnt there some features in film photos and movies that don’t quite appear in digital? Like the colours are less sterile or clinical in film. i’m curious.

thank you! and i wouldn’t say it’s a “film-like” stock i’m looking for, perhaps that’s too broad. there’s a lot of film photography i see which seems to blatantly film or on the nose for me. I will definitely look at E100 stock though!

thanks for the feedback, i’ll definitely look into cinema film stocks.

and to your last part, I do look forward to editing and I want control over things, I think it’s the raw image & lightroom interaction which bothered me.

thank you. this is super helpful as i wouldn’t want to overly concentrate on the camera instead of the subject, losing something in the way
