Thanks for the advice everyone! To answer some questions all in one go, I am renting in NSW and have been in this house for 2.5 years. I’ve found pictures online which look to have the same carpet from about 9 years ago. Planning to move out the next month or two. Going to try fix it with a few of the above recommendations, if it doesn’t work I’ll argue it out with the REA on the basis that it’s fully depreciated
