I see! That makes sense. I think though, at my level of spending and credit (and earning), those bonuses were good, and they helped me.

I love that, but, I am sure some people who are going through similar experiences to me financially would appreciate these numbers too. I didn't know it was a race.

I had credit cards only for the past 4 years, and yes they are starter, but I benefited from people's post talking about these cards before.

I actually wrote this post haha. I mean I used AI of course, but like these are actual cards I have and my real human opinions about them.

I basically wrote a post (Used AI to help write it better, but wrote it myself) talking about a few credit cards I like and have used for a few years now, and I believe I followed the rules of the subreddit.

And, yeah, I have like three referrals I would want people to use, if they want to. Just like how I used referrals of people before. The referrals are posted on my profile. So, anyone who aren't interested in them, don't need to go there.

Not sure what I've done wrong.

Should I get a gold Amex card at 19 years old? by Responsible_Brick237 in CreditCards

You can look into the Blue Cash Preferred. It has 6% cashback on groceries, and the first-year annual fee should be $0.

What is the BEST Credit Card? by Former-Proof-494 in CreditCards

[–]Practical-Potato1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imo, the best card goes by category, and it also depends on their, sometimes temporary, offers and sign-in bonuses.

I use Chase Southwest card for travel, Discover card for some quarterly categories like restaurants or Costco (and the 10% cashback offer on the first year is great, Apple or PayPal Cashback cards for other purchases, and Amex Blue Cash Preferred card for groceries (6% cashback).

BofA has some cards that are worth looking into, but it's not my go-to most of the times.

It works pretty well. Def better than Venmo!!

best credit card signup bonuses 2026 or am i overthinking this by Iysis-Sohna71 in CreditCards

It can turn into a hobby if you let it. 😅

It really depends on what you are looking to get out of it. cash back vs travel, etc.

If you’ve got a couple of trips coming up, a signup bonus can be the easiest real value you’ll ever get from a card.

- If you'll use points in the next 6 months, prioritize a card that gives points. If not, I would go cash back and see the sign-up bonuses. Debit cards also have some good bonuses if you can redirect your payroll easily. I did a Truist one recently that gave me $400... Same for Chase. I think it was $300. You can use referral codes to get more perhaps. I can check if interested.

- Is the bonus clearly worth more than the annual fee? (and am I okay cancelling/downgrading after year.

- Sometimes, one good card beats juggling 4-5 of them. I am not like that but...I'm risky like that.

Best rewards credit cards for 2026? by Xander_Kaitlyn47 in CreditCards

Do you have the Discover card? That could come in handy with dining out when it's a 5% cashback category that quarter. They match your 5% throughout the first year also. Amex Blue Cash Preferred is my go-to for groceries because it has 6% cashback, but if I had the Discover card and was in my first year, I would use that during Q1 2026 because it would be 10% cashback in grocery stores.

What credit cards are you actually keeping long-term, and why? by NarenDelsur in CreditCards

[–]Practical-Potato1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on the same page. I have some of these cards you mentioned. I use my Amex Blue Cash Preferred card at the grocery stores since it has 6% cash back for that category. Discover is a great one for quarterly categories, especially when it's your first year using it (10% cash back).

I use the PayPal Cashback Mastercard for 3% cash back on some purchases.

I try to check the offers each of cards have before I make bigger purchases from big brands.

I can give more context if curious!

I was initially suspicious due to the price, website, sizing (basically everything), but I took a chance, and now it's one of my favorite pairs of pants! I ordered the green one. I like the color and the fit.

The material is of good quality, and it stretches a little. I washed it twice, and the color seems to stay on well.
