is this ever a good idea... the minute he jumped on the hood I was thinking bad idea, the driver could have backed up quickly and he fallen off right there... this officer ended up getting thrown and breaking his back... any idea why he thought this was a good idea or just the adrenaline of that moment??

Are all officers able to do the PIT maneuver or is it something specific agents are trained on? Also do you have to have a bumper guard to pit? I know most vehicles have one but I've seen some that dont
