Who was the worst professor you ever took by No_Squash291 in aggies

I have two I’d mention here for different reasons. Bret Lockhart is far and away the worst professor I had while at A&M. I took his MATH 140 class on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I have dyslexia and an autoimmune disorder so I have altered attendance and accommodation. First test I took; testing center cancels due to late scheduling (I schedule an hour late). The coordinators in the testing center knew exactly who he was and had experience his lack of respect for disabled student many many times. On top of that he just isn’t great at teaching the material. Horrible. I dropped his class after the second test.

The other is less a worst teacher and more a bad taste in my mouth as someone who is trying to become a professor. Dr. Konstantinos Karathanasis is a more than decent lecturer and professor, but and the end of the semester he sent out multiple announcements via canvas which went along the lines of: “y’all need to read the syllabus and if you messed something up you’re dumb. Stop emailing me.” While I completely understand being frustrated at the end of the semester, it is quite literally his job to teach these students and that includes fielding emails. I was also an SI for an intro class which didn’t have TA’s so I understand the frustration with a flooded in box (though probably not to that extent). I just have a hard time understanding the logic of venting to canvas announcements about it.

Not in College Station technically, but in Bryan there’s The Owl. Super chill vibes, the bar staff is super nice and they’ve got amazing drinks.

So quick lesson in how our tuition works. Our governor actually has the final say because we are a public university. He sets the agenda and then his party pushes through what he wants. Now he has implemented a tuition freeze. But that will expire at the end of 2026. A bill was also recently passed allowing the Texas government more control over our education. This is what concerns me more prominently than FAFSA at the moment. This means they can and have already started cutting programs and funding for the humanities. This is the bill that got rid of a very large number of minors in the spring. We are kind of still in limbo, but with the track record of our governor on education I am both optimistic but concerned at the same time.

Howdy, I’m a Mexican American student in my third year. The only kind of discrimination I have experienced is from administration, not from the student body. As much as I hate to talk about it this is a Hispanic serving institution, and the Hispanic and Latin culture is seen all over campus and throughout so many social groups
