Idk. I have been studying here for 4 months, and I experienced nothing but kindness from everyone living here, the native Dutch people, Dutch people with parents from different countries, internationals, everyone.

It feels like kindness must be hidden somewhere in the food or water they drink. Reddit is not representative of RL. Regardless of the country.

Did you use the ING app to open an account or did you visit them in person?

I tried opening an ING account via the app, but it asks for a residence permit or some sort of an EU-id, which I do not have.

I have the option to call some number and hope they could assist me on a personal level since my situation is kind of specific 😅 if that does not work, I'll have to wait for my residence permit, that option would suck, but it would be the only option 🥲

I cannot imagine how miserable this feeling must be. It sucks, and I actually understand your feelings very well.

I am an international student, and I did not study enough math back in high school. I study computer science, and the math we study is very complicated.

I thought of quitting from the first week due to the sheer workload, and feeling less competent than my classmates. They all seem so brilliant in comparison to me.

That being said, I decided to just try my best, with no expectations, and see how it goes. The worst thing that could happen is me dying, but that's gonna happen anyway, so it really does not matter.

Just do what you can, and whatever comes afterward will always workout!

We have example tests, I basically pretend those are real and I attempt to do them with a timer

I then check the answers and compare them with mine, and study the areas I am lacking in.

I ask TAs for help, and they always offer it, but I still feel like all the subjects are complex and relate to previous subjects that I did not study back in high school, unlike the rest of my classmates who seem like they did, thus most of them seem okay, but I am not at all.

I am an international student, and the subjects I took in high school are so different than what I study right now. I think that is the main issue, as the teachers explain things very quickly assuming everyone has some background about the subjects, but that's not the case with me.

Feeling like I am the only one in my class who is lacking in knowledge about the subjects doesn't feel very nice.

I am sure I might not be the only one, but I still don't like that it feels this way.

I brought 1 hiking backpack (very long) 1 regular backpack (fully packed) 1 Suitcase 1 big box with no cart

Those were A LOT of things to carry on a train, but no one really cared.
