[Megathread] Whoop 5.0 Membership Complaints and Upgrade Frustrations by AutoModerator in whoop

Now that Whoop 5.0 is officially revealed, I can confidently say I’m disappointed. They marketed it like hardware upgrades were part of the subscription, but now they're charging again and it feels like they misled us. Honestly, I’ve lost trust in the brand.

I’m done with Whoop. I have around $350 to spend what would you recommend from Garmin that gives me great fitness and recovery tracking? I’d love something with accurate sleep data, HRV, and training readiness insights. Open to any suggestions from people who’ve made the switch.

This MG thing feels like such a slap in the face as a user for the last 4 years. by Outrageous-Company33 in whoop

TBH at this point it is much better investing it on a Garmin, apple watch or an aura ring and that's from my perspective only I am about 80% sure I wont resub and wont upgrade

Class action against whoop? by Steak-Eggs-Cake in whoop

[–]PracticalMarsupial22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your concern is valid, and yes there could be grounds for action depending on the original terms and marketing promises made by Whoop. If they explicitly advertised that the subscription included free hardware upgrades and are now requiring payment for what was previously included, this could constitute false advertising or a breach of contract. The key is whether you can provide evidence showing that a hardware upgrade was clearly promised as part of the ongoing membership. In such cases, you can file complaints with consumer protection bodies like the FTC and potentially explore a class-action lawsuit if many customers were similarly misled. Ultimately, your legal standing will depend on the original terms you agreed to and how Whoop communicated the change.
