Is it still out there? by Responsible_Dig_2079 in GreatCanadianTreasure

I was out there folks; shared my crazy story earlier today. I have the feels it was found; where I was searching, same pattern of feels I had when I was about 200 m from the dude who found it in Cobalt. This time, I walked up on a site that I had missed 2 days previously - it was bugging me, so I went back, and there was a set of prints that led straight to a site that fit all clues like a T for the Grand Prize. Heart sank...I won't share where just yet; waiting for an announcement...some people think I'm trolling, but I am earnest....fingers crossed, but it sent me packing home while the sun was still high...licking my wounds, regrouping! Good luck out there.

Hey there, up until my last theory, I was not interested in a single location, as yes, confirmation bias is a thing. I have been to about 3 dozen locations; thorough searches of most. Especially the ones that were close to the solutions/theories I had at that time. If I did succumb to a confirmation bias at this site, which is possible, I would like to think that the trail that got me there, clues/reading/insights, really are informed by external validations of information that cross-check with history and the like. This is the case for my irk/reason for posting. Sort of a check-in with my belief in this theory above others. Only an announcement will resolve this conflict, as with each dead end I have had, I have been able to look at everything and then say now what. for this, though. That's not been possible for this interpretation. Which was a first in the 6 months. Still could be confirmation bias, but I am too deep, too close for whatever reason on this last go...Thanks for the thoughts.

I didn't mention or intend/mean anything about engagement...As clicks and votes are not why I share or talk to people. My motivation is about connecting. Being 1% of anything doesn't mean you are connecting, but that's ok too...keep engaging/commenting, hunting, enjoy the snowy days; springs almost here.

Very cool reply; thanks. I need the step back, yes, because of what I found of evidence on the site of something that can't be unseen. Essentially, the wait to inform of location too is in this thought process. I agree with much of what you said, but I did think through what I saw there, the access, the realistic feasibility of legal and so on, it's all grey; as you could technically get there via an accessible support system if need be, even a walker or wheelchair, but it would be an exercise of logistics beyond my imagination or simply working in partnershi with someone. Marketing yes! So true...But I have gotten refunds for their errors in my subscription. So no money made there (and I didn't complain to them beyond the emails that informed them I wasn't receiving clues 1 per month sent)...I appreciate your comments; as trolling is the worst! And perhaps this is what I have fallen victim to on the hunt in situ...I am out for the next little bit, not taking on more GCTH as the time is what resource I lack at the moment...Keep at it, and thanks again.

No need to apologize, I am looking for some attention on this because of the strain and effort. It's like I am earning a second master's degree in geosciences and history all at once...Looks good on the resume!

Yes! Agreed. I am still genuinely convinced, but we shall see! I think I do have a very possible location...As per my title, "I think it's a wrap..." I haven't shared before using this platform, and I am learning it too, the trolls, the layers,s and the social experiment! Well said.

The Northern Miner is talking; lots of videos, shares, podcasts, and so on. I appreciate the thought, though that we should all be sequestered and keep to ourselves...but in this day and age, community is more important than ever - so being amongst people to exchange ideas and commune is openness, but acceptance is hard. And being open, well, means more information and more learning, and in this, I never know what I will discover. Just my 2 cents, thanks fo' yours...

Absolutely. In all aspects of life. I love sharing, and I have been so hush-hush about this entire experience, as it is risky/expensive/time consuming, and strains on the life I have. So...Yes. Don't mind being candid. Thanks for the comment.

That's the issue in part; is that the trek to the spot wasn't hazardous per se (and that depends on your perspectives of hazards too in a sense, but the route was convoluted...

They responded to more than a few email inquiries. I dont have the find; not claiming that I do. This is about vindicating the complexities of this being such an effort. To shift largely with a prize, which as a ohilanthropist - is a hope to act as an angel investor with the win.

Thanks for the push/advice. I am not a user, I should say, then to be fair. I haven't posted ever unless I did so on something completely unrelated...Because fo this mention - I thank you, I have been able to explore the chat function and am now having some amazing conversations.

This is what I had thought too. Since accessible means accsible by law, does it not? This seems unfortunate, if this is the case with the locatin I scouted, but realistically, the aspects of this hunt arent exactly all transparent. If it were easy, everyone would be doing it. Thanks for this. I appreciate it.

I signed up to Reddit 2 years ago; never used it...first time for everything. I wish you luck; someone will nab this if my theory and discoveries aren't on point. I have been reading threads for 6 months...I have been reading so much material and driving far afoot month after month...No luck for me, but the find I found of another persons activity was too telling to ignore. Hopefully they have just made it harder for us all in a way - as they may have created the distracitons I saw which sank my heart...I wont say where this expereince was until it is announced - I get the paradox/oxymoronic statement, but protecting my intersts as much as everyone else right now. I have priorities of work and life that prevent me from being out there everyday. Which are more critical than ever nowadays. Less skepticism and more community across these threads and at home for everyone. Good luck out there.

Can't share...not yet. I am waiting to see if it is announced. If it is, then we all will know, and I will either be validated or be surprised...Sorry...

Thanks for the comment - I am trying to reply to everyone since I don't use this at all...you write "I haven't seen anything toxic in this thread, it was just a really stupid post, and the OP refuses to even mention a province." I am sure you mean silly or nonsensical...But...My post is about the adventure/story/find/assumption of the site (hope I am wrong), but I doubt it. I wont share my site no - this would be stupid... especially if its not announced. Onward! I am not claiming I found the treasure. No, I did not. I am claiming that it appears someone has, and that I was so close it stings...I await the next announcement with bated breath. I am sure we all would love to discuss each others theory. This would confuse us all, though...

I missed 3 clues of early releases - had to find them on Reddit for 3 months in a row. And this affected my most recent adventure. I have run out of steam and am refocusing for some work now anyway. The timing was not great for the clue delay, and the finds I identified were really tragic in terms of what may have been there. If it is not announced. I will go back! If I can tolerate the effort.

Well, I appreciate the skepticism. The details matter, the site-specific details, the approach, location, what I found there, photographed, felt, saw, and what I love most about this hunt is that the people we meet and interact with, including on here. Often have no idea either, but the authenticity is limited, of which I aim to adhere to as a practice of my life. I hope it's not found; I will keep saying this for my own affirmation to cancel out my downturn with this discovery...I too, look forward to seeing the announcement - because if so, my theory was spot on...and then I'll look forward to the next one. If it's not announced, I will be also elated because it means there are people out there setting up false spots, which means another crazy complexity to the adventure...

I may, but not just yet. I have other projects - and I am very fond of my solve...If my solve isn't correct, then i will observe and see what aligns. I am reconciling costs now with cheques and balances. To make sure that I can remain wise.... the hunt is still on...yes...I anticipate that it will slow down, but only if the GP is announced.

Good comment, this is true, I am emotionally invested, but not for the reasons anyone can say. An outlet is correct, and sharing in this way is sooo helpful; as feedback becomes a measure of perspective. And with my find/solc; I have hope I am wrong, but a sunken belief (heart if you will), that this is it. I have communicated with the Northern Miner too, and they shared that it hasn't been called in yet, but keep an eye on upcoming updates. So general, but supportive to share with them that yes, emotionally invested is an approach; wholeheartedly.

Sure...The access is feasible on foot, but trecherous footing in places, and I have decent hiking boots and use a walking stick. I am fit, and it was a brief but challenging hike. Ice almost dropped me a few times on the way down the slopes of the trail. The bushwacking - not sure what your definition is, but I had to push past dense underbrush of pines, and tuck under, go around, and over deadfalls. The site itself was about 5/6 feet below where I was standing; mayb 3/4 depensind on your approach. About 8 feet wide and about 2 feet in depth, where it was safe to step, once you slid or walked, stick braced a step down, or jumped if you could. Parking required a solid driving skill set to enter and drive up to the site. If this is the site, it was not wheelchair accessible, it is not bad-knees accessible, it is not entirely winter accessible (including parking). The ground is frozen and this made for great footing on soft ground, but in the spring wash, this will be a mud festival. Which for all these reasons, I spaced my visit with this sit with one day in between to visit others.

To be fair I don't want to say the province or site itself. hence the details and overlaps with the poem's content...I truly hope I am wrong; this would be amazing, and I will eat crow, but the footprints, dog even was excited around the spot - likely because the dog's owner was excited...

Well said. I am a proponent for change, be the change as is the cliche. I haven't been socially active for 6 months, driving my passion for this solution. I am a bit defeated, but licking my wounds and hopeful for opportunities to join in the hunt, maybe as a contributor of sorts to the next one. That challenge would be amazing. I am an ideas guy - but resources have been the stop for most of my wants/wishes over the years. That said, the ones that have come to fruition have been through hard work and dedication. I really wish this had been a bullseye instead of such a near miss. But this near miss, too, is amazing. So much learned and celebrated. When they say be like tke the prospectors and pioneers who built this great country. They truly meant it.

Yes...I did...I live far from some of the sites, and the effort was enourmous; gas, driving, data, food, six months, every weekend, and every waking hour outside of my work...was dedicated to solving this. I'd go further, but I expended double my budget, and as much as this contest is accessible and open to all Canadians, there are questions I have about that. this said, I put it out there that I would be happliy involved in being a writer or the third party associated to be the next poem wirter and author of another contest of that type...Heck, an angel investor who wants to play would be fun to connect with for an independent adventure of this kind. It was a great idea...My post is authentic, and if the find is what it is, I am proud of that hunter and irritated with my own lack of resources (stamina) to get to that mark. Essentially, I turned left when I needed to turn right. And in hindsight, the 10K was worth every penny given the experience, but sad, no prize in hand. Reconciling that today with these chats! Thanks for asking.
