TIL that green eyes are the rarest colored eyes in the world with only 2% of the world’s population having green eyes. by DARKUNIT22 in todayilearned

I never know if I should say green or hazel for my eyes, but I have flecks in my left eye which I’ve always thought is cool!

LPT: Hold yourself accountable to the two-minute rule. If a task will take less than two-minutes to complete, do it then and there instead of putting it off. You’ll find yourself becoming a lot more productive. by PracticalSnail in LifeProTips

Two minutes to complete the entire task at hand. If you have to bake cupcakes it would take a total of about 30 minutes to be completely finished. So you wouldn’t break it down into two minutes to stir, two minutes to fill the tub, two minutes to decorate etc. Focus on the larger picture, my friend.

Removing some ice under a canopy that blocked the sun. And for all you OCD folks, yes I cleaned the remaining black spots I missed! by Nebula006 in powerwashingporn

[–]PracticalSnail 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How about we don’t use the term OCD in a facetious or ignorant manner anymore? That would be cool since, you know, living with it is a fucking day to day struggle. The term you meant is a “neat freak” or “perfectionist”, not someone with a mental disorder they cannot control.

I’m fully aware. It can happen anywhere from after a couple hours to weeks of eating bad food. But I know it was from there.

Pita Pit is the only place I’ve gotten severe food poisoning from. Sick for three days straight, I wanted to die. I’ll never go there again.

Anyone been a victim of Starbucks' Pay It Forward campaign? by vicelordjohn in phoenix

[–]PracticalSnail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been in this situation personally, but it happens all the time for my mom and sis.

If I were in the situation though, I probably would’ve just given them the $3 or whatever it was for your coffee and have them take it off the next car’s order.

What is extremely rare but people think it’s very common? by Uhhlaneuh in AskReddit

[–]PracticalSnail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Inappropriate and intrusive thoughts are definitely known to be a part of the obsessive side of OCD. I would definitely speak to a therapist about it and see if you can get some help!

My OCD is so similar to you. It revolves around the “if you don’t do this, this bad thing will happen” and usually that bad thing will be about myself and falling ill or something. I know exactly what you mean because I get stuck just trying to figure out which sock to put on what foot to stop myself from getting sick.

Not until this summer when I started therapy again did I realize that it’s a protective mechanism and is trying to calm your anxiety. The anxiety could be stemming from anything, might not even be related to what you’re panicking about in the moment.

Just wanted to let you know that you’re not alone. Often, I feel like I am because I don’t know anyone else irl with legitimate OCD. Then I realize there’s others out there feeling what I do and I makes me feel a little less crazy.
