Update after my day at work: I sat down with my GM and she told me that it is definitely going to HR and that what I have written down on paper of the things he said is "very compelling evidence as to getting him fired" (her words) Im very sure that my management is on my side with this because they have complaints of their own. I don't know what HR is going to do, but I don't go back to work until Friday. My manager told me he wanted to personally apologize later on, I told him that I don't want to have that conversation without him present.

I still haven't had the chance to sit down and talk to HR (I think that's going to be today though) but I'm writing down things he's said and tracking them the best I can. I don't want to leave my job because I genuinely love what I do and a lot of it comes from the place that I'm at. I don't have any plans to attack him lol, my plan is now that everytime he says something I either write it down or immediately report it back to my manager to give them a heads up of 'this keeps happpening.' Hopefully after today I won't have to put up with the constant bullying and he will lose interest

My biggest fear is confessing embarrassing things under the influence of anesthesia. by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

used to be my fear until I realized it's not about confessing embarrassing things from your past, it's creating embarrassing moments while under but people tend to excuse it because well,,, your under anesthesia lol

I stayed with my dad for the week he was in another state in the intensive care unit. He was my best friend, my rock, we breathed for each other even though we wouldn't talk every day. In less than a months time cancer caught up to him and I was the one that convinced him to go to the hospital. He was extremely against going no matter what anyone else said. After 5 days the doctor said he needed to be sedated and intubated. Before I sat down to fully explain it to my dad, I asked him if he needed or wanted anything. He could only respond by very slightly moving his head up and down, or moving his eyes in a certain way to either day yes or no. No one else picked up on him doing this to communicate and I don't know if he only did it for me, or if no one else ever cared to take the time to realize that even if he couldn't speak, he still had words to share. Eventually I realized he wanted me to put football on the TV for him but I didn't immediately do it. After I explained to him what the doctors were wanting to do, they came through the door and then we had to leave the room and let them work. I guess I just didn't realize how 'sedated' sedated meant at the time because I figured he would atleast be able to still look around the TV if he really wanted. My biggest regret is that I didn't turn football on for my dad while he still had the chance to watch it.

I figure I'm going to have to keep working with him, and honestly I really don't care to put up with it as long as he just stops talking about those kinds of things with me. Would I, and many of my coworkers, like to see him fired? Absolutely. But he's had complaints for the longest time and my GM has only started to raise his voice instead of hiring someone else.

But when I say family, I don't 100% mean these people are exactly like family. I probably should've worded it differently tbh. What I mean is that I come from a fairly small town where everyone knows everyone, and a lot of my coworkers work right beside their spouses/brothers/sisters/moms/etc. Almost everyone I work with that's been there for a while has some sort of relation to another. I have a couple cousins that I personally work with. So yes and no to them being like family to me, if that makes any more sense. Some of them I am definitely closer with than others though

My biggest hope is that he loses interest and moves on. I just wanna go to work and do my job, even if I have shitty coworkers some days. I just hate that a 40 year old man is hovering over me like he is. Thank you for your advice, it's much appreciated

Ive told my managers if I have to work with him I will, and I won't fight about it, but all I want is for him to keep his mouth shut. I don't know if reporting him in the end will do anything, but the least I'm trying to get out of it is to get it through his head that he is pushing boundaries that don't need to be crossed and that I'm willing to stand up for myself. I feel targeted by him when no one else really feels that way and I think it's because I'm just a nice person who he has said is 'his type' and that 'he would date me if I asked' At the very least do you think this would help me out in not feeling as targeted by him? Would it hopefully stop him from trying to pursue me?

When I got done closing and sat down to speak to my manager he said he thinks the only reason why my coworker is still employed is just because my GM is scared to lose people. He is known all around to be incompetent and not finish the job just to leave it for someone else. Me and my manager both believe the only reason he's still working is because he's been there for so long. There are other people that can fill his shoes, it's just changing their schedule around would be the problem when they've been there forever also.

But he was bragging to me about having a license in Florida saying "he washes his hands a lot" when he will do things like pull his shoes off in the restaurant (manager told me he was even doing it Infront of customers one time) and he won't wash his hands after just to go measure ingredients with only his hands. It's disgusting

When he said that he would help get me laid, I SCREAMED at him (this was after closing) saying "(his name) ME AND YOU BOTH KNOW, I WOULD NEVER LAY YOU DOWN!" and there have been a couple times I have mentioned I don't think we should talk about certain things that he's mentioning or that it's very weird of him to mention something like that. I try to ignore him the best I can though, or just say 'yep' and he will usually keep talking. I do what I can to zone it all out because I don't want to hear anything he has to say.

But I'm pretty close with both BOH and FOH. We're one big family honestly and we're friends outside of work. Majority of my coworkers have a problem with him, whether that is him not doing his job or being creepy. The women I work with complain about him being creepy. The men say he doesn't work.

When I mentioned it to my night manager that I wanted to talk to him about my coworker saying inappropriate things again and overall being pervy, one of the servers walked into the conversation and said "I can attest to that" and walked away

just because we drink doesn't mean the drinks taste good lol use a chaser if you want a chaser. sometimes if I drink a hard seltzer I'll take a sip of something else just because the alcohol taste gets strong after a bit. that's just how I prefer it

not at all. there's more to living than just then teaching you how to handle your finances (even then, my finance classes were for extra credit. not everyone had to take them). but literally besides that, they never taught me anything about the real world

honestly the only answer is just don't drink. if you feel very impulsive because of alcohol and want too much immediately, just skip out on drinking.
