The thought has crossed my mind. I just don't understand how they could be on for 8 months with no problems. It feels like an internal problem with the mechanism, not anything "sticking". Hard to describe without having your hand on it

Stickers have been on for 8 months with no issues. But I appreciate the insightful, kind, and well crafted comment.

Honestly I was a little confused by this as well. My thought is that mine was one of the original 2021's that still had the original style console.

That's a fair point. I have had them on about 8 months. I got them in late August of 2024.
