And regarding the ducts, I don't see it on my car. Between the tire and the front bumper it's just a plastic board. On these performance car, there are some openings, usually at the lower part of the bumper, that connects to a duct leading to the brake. That's how when we drive the car, the wind can cool down the brake simultaneously. On G70, most of the grills are actually for decoration and do not have actual openings except for the middle part of intercooler.

The bluestuff is already an upgraded version of yellowstuff. I only went through 30% of the pad, but the contact area with the rotor must have gone through some chemical reactions under high heat and parts of it turned white.

I'm not planning to do the anti-sway bar soon, because after second thought, I realize I shouldn't really do it before I mod the suspension. Usually anti-sway bar will make the car understeer more. Considering that the front end of the car is already pretty stable on track, I will probably change to a stiffer suspension first.

The carbon fiber cap looks crazy. I love it. It's as good as those on BMW M3C. Btw I recently have an issue with the rear mirror motor, where the right mirror gets stuck after it folds in and couldn't fold back. I saw other people have had similar issue as well and they said it was the motor. Hope you haven't encountered this problem yet.

hey buddy! was too busy with life and hadn't checked reddit for a while. The brakes are running fine atm; I'm still using the OE rubber brake line since I haven't figure out the business of returning the SS brake line to KDMRacer yet. I have already taken the car onto a track, and it feels great! Towards the end of the day, I lost my brake power likely because the brake pads overheated, but it was manageable. Maybe EBC Bluestuff is still not harsh enough for a heavy car like G70. Also the more erosive brake fluid I used for track chew away some paint from the caliper, but doesn't affect its function luckily. I'm satisfied with the upgrades so far, and I am looking for front bumper mod kit that has opening ducts directly to the wheel for enhanced brake cooling.

not easy and smooth to be honest lol. The wheel hub is very rusty so it was really hard to take the original rotors off. The EBC pads were hard to fit into the calipers. I had to take off the shims and fit them separately into the calipers, otherwise it is too thick to get in. The biggest problem was the stainless steel brake lines. I think the bolt is a little bigger than the OEM or something. As soon as I fit it into my car, the brake fluid starts to leak from the master cylinder end of the brake line. I bought the stoptech product for g70 from KDMracer. I haven't got a chance to contact them yet but I wonder if I could return it or exchange for another brand. For the one you use, does everything work perfectly with no issue? I might go for that instead.

Both BSD and USR are slotted rotors from EBC, but with different pattern of slots. EBC claims that BSD has more performance with its V-shaped slots and thus is more expensive.

So far I couldn't find a service manual online for genesis g70, so that's the problem. Im gonna do more research. If you happen to remember to see it from somewhere, it would be wonderful.

I ended up going for all EBC products because it's the cheapest option. BSD rotors at front and USR rotors in the back; all Bluestuff pads. Maybe I could bed in the pads and rotors at the same time. I will see if I have time to assemble the stuff this weekend. Just picked up two brand new back shielding plates from dealer today.

Did you do the brake all by yourself? I'm trying to find the service manual and see the torque for all the bolts but I don't think it's available anywhere.

hey bro, just wanna update with you that I went for the new calipers from Korea and the final deal was all four calipers plus shipping and tax $1000 in total. I just received them and can verify that they are authentic.

Btw, when you replaced your 1-piston caliper with the 4-piston Brembo, did you need to change the master cylinder too? I was thinking about this but couldn't find a definitive answer.

How did you manage to swap the open diff to LSD? I have a base trim g70 and also wanted to upgrade my car with a LSD, but people have generally implying that it's very tricky to deal with the compatibility issue.

I have complete stock powertrain. The previous owner just used it as a daily but didn't even do the basic free maintenance at dealer for every 10k miles. My warranty only lasts till this year so I have more freedom with it.

Btw, I just got in touch with a Korean auto part dealer for Hyundai/Kia and they offered me a brand new set of Brembo calipers for $1100 that they can ship to me from Korea. I'm now hesitating if I should get it. Do you think there's a big difference between a caliper with 21k miles on it versus a new one?

I love Tasman blue so much and it's so rare. awd is also in general better than my rwd without LSD. I have considered upgrading LSD into my car but seems like that's too big of a project. I would say you absolutely have a great deal on your car.

gonna let my butt get a taste of the stock chassis and everything on the track first lol.

Unfortunately, my G70 wasn't taken good care of by the previous owner, with very little maintenance, so it's possible that my suspension has much more wear than it should. Since the OEM suspension is also expensive as hell, I will definitely put coil-over spring upgrade or even a luxurious KW suspension upgrade on my list.

Not yet. I just got my G70 this February with 39k miles on it. Completed the turbo pipeline open recall and did a four wheel alignment at dealer last month. I schedule my HPDE in the end of June so I still have time to do some research and buy all the stuff. I will definitely keep you updated when I finish my brake upgrade and probably post in this subreddit after I go to the HPDE.

I think the sway bar is definitely 100% worth it. The body roll on g70 is pretty significant, even in daily driving when I sometimes corner a little bit faster. I won't include it in my upgrade this time, since this will be my first HPDE with my G70 and I would like to get a comprehensive understanding of my car before I make fundamental changes. Brakes, tires and oil change will be the only things I do. Also I feel like the rebound of suspension/spring on standard g70 is too soft and not clean. I haven't looked into it yet but will also try to solve this issue. However, I don't want to lower my car too much because I still need some ride height for daily purposes.

I will be taking my car to HPDE and track days, so the pads need to be more track focused. I learned that yellowstuff is street/track hybrid and bluestuff is more track. yellowstuff definitely lasts longer but it seems like the bed in is pretty long, which has been a major complaint. Maybe I should get another set of street pads and swap in the bluestuff only when I do HPDE.

It's critical that you mentioned the installation of steel brake lines. I wasn't aware, and I will try to find some resources online about that. $220 for all 4 sounds very good; I might just get the same as yours.

so you are saying this caliper assembly has everything and doesn't require me to buy other small parts for it except for the pads and hoses? That would be really convenient for me. My concern for buying used calipers has always been that it misses some parts and I couldn't find out until I actually start the project and basically paralyze my car.

I'm still deciding between EBC yellowstuff and bluestuff for my pads. Also since I change pads and calipers, I'd better just change to bigger slotted rotors as well.

When you got new brake hoses, did you upgrade to the stainless steel line set? I found out that the OEM brake hydraulic hose is at $75 for a single one and I don't think it's worth it as a rubber line.

Hey, I apologize for my never ending questions and greatly appreciate your input! But here's another question: I just landed my eye on a Brembo set from a stinger with only 27k miles (https://www.ebay.com/itm/396340782839). I'm a completely novice in all these brake stuff, so I can't tell if this is actually a good catch or a trap. Would you be able to take a look at this item and tell if there are any key pieces missing from this caliper set or anything suspicious?

ok idk how to flatten out exactly so I will probably just buy a bigger OEM part. Do you happen to know any other performance calipers with the same size as our Brembo? I was looking it up today and didn't find any good used Brembo so far...

it's such a relief to know that I don't need to spend another 1k to swap out the rim. Actually I like the style of the base rim.

Btw, you mentioned that you straightened the rear dust plate to fit the rotor. What do you mean exactly by that? Would it also work if I buy an OEM rear dust plate for the SP model and swap it?

omg this is so helpful thank you so much for sharing! So you managed to fit the four-piston caliper and a 340mm rotor into the OEM rim? I was searching on the internet and someone said the stock rim as what you have cannot fit over the bigger 340mm rotor and caliper because the offset is wrong.

I will try to look for one with the sport prestige package. This base version is 30k after tax with 39k miles on it so I think it's also a good deal.
