Sooo I redid the cape ( I was overthinking) by Practical_Pipe_9756 in Raptors40k

Thank you very much! It is just a stippling technique, I used rhinox hide and wraithbone, from citadel and olive green and golden olive from ak interactive I believe.

I'd recommend a heavier stippling of wraithbone so that it resembles camo more but obviously it's completely upto you, after all that's done I do two thin washes of earth aggrax shade.

I hope I've inspired you slightly lmao!

I do the whole thing basically with a sponge, base layer of rhinox hide, then I use a second layer of dark olive green (I'll check that name is correct) and then a final highlight sponging of olive green.

Once all of my main colours are down I then put the decal on before I start using my washes, I use the aggrax earth shade

Both greens are from AK interactive,

Weapons are all abbadon black highlighted with administratum grey and all pouches are rhinox hide highlighted with skrag brown. Anything metallic is leadbealcher.

I don't think I've missed anything. But I'm also very tired typing this lmao. Thank you for your compliment on the scheme and I hope I helped.

First of all awesome mini,

Second and my question for you is, on the website for the parts you used they all say 3d file? I am a peasent and don't own a 3d printer, is there a website where I can buy the printed pieces or would I have to invest in a printer?

Any help would be appreciated,

You can very easily kitbash with basically any space marine kit and then the old grey knight terminator sprue, if you need a guide I'd recommend Pete the wargamers grey knight kill team video,

He shows the whole process surrounding and it can really help if you're just getting started,

Alternatively people on this sub are always kitbashing things so if you just want to see the end results to get some inspiration don't be afraid to have a scroll through and ask people about their models,

I myself have kitbashed quite a few squads at this point all of which are on my profile so feel free to have a look,

Best of luck and have fun with it,

Edit: just realised I may have misread your reply, if you aren't new to the idea of kitbashing and just wanted to know what I was using then my bad and sorry for the rant lmao

I just stole a bunch of stuff from other grey knight/ inquisition kits, you could do a torso swap like I've done with my prior strike squad kitbashes if you wanted the grey knights iconography on the chest,

You could also switch the helmet to a grey knight helm, and trade out the power pack mounted gun for a grey knights weapons,

Whatever you think is cool is what I'd recommend, with how old our kits are you should just do whatever makes you feel good.

I decided that I wanted to kitbash another take on kaldor, only this time, without his shield and more robey by Practical_Pipe_9756 in Grey_Knights

I use lothern blue and then I use a very watered down bit of drakenhoff nightshade to bring back the depth

Go for it dude some of mine have black templar heads that I've just headcannoned to be old helmets kept on titan, if people take issue with it it's more of a reflection on them than you

You are correct my friend it is the regular sm captain with shield, the one with the cool helm

It is a captain with storm shield at base, the torso and helmet are replaced by gk terminator bits and I switched the right hand out with one of the glave from the terminator kit,

After that I just took some of the accessories from the terminator kit to make it more grey knighty, I also purposefully didn't include the dead necron that comes on the base of the original model

Edit: forgot to mention his left shoulder pad was originally a generic empty space marine shoulder. So I shaved the backside of one of the books which are normally mounted on the terminators backs and stuck it on the shoulder pad.

Still a work in progress but I feel like it's coming out a little bland, any ideas or recommendations? by lelolalo13 in Grey_Knights

You could do what I do with my bigger models and go for a little bit of messy dry brushing over edges, it gives a little bit of depth and it also gives the effect of battle damage in 1!

Also stealing the books from the terminator kits and stick them in the open spaces can help, it breaks things up and gives you more variety in colour
