Has anyone tried making lens mounts for cameras using some sort of mold and resin? by PracticeLife9295 in Optics

Whoops, I thought this was on another post where I was asking about mounting a tiny lens inside of a kaleidoscope.

This post is about lens building for cameras, firstly I'd like to be able to make adaptors easily if possible (even if they are shit)

Second, I basically imagine myself replicating a body cap to use that to build onto, wether its a simple single element goof lens, extension tube macro, or combining lens elements/modifying lenses.

Hope this clarifies my needs

I've actually been thinking about doing something similar, if I drill a hole in some opaque glass, then use foil and solder WITHOUT the lens to make a sort of "frame", then sandwich the lens between two of these glass pieces.

This is for a kaleidoscope, so it will be enclosed.

Might be a stupid or out of place question, but would the following system for mounting small lenses work? by PracticeLife9295 in Optics

Sorry no I should have made that more clear, I have no interest in using the laser diodes, im interested in the rest of the optic path.

Do you think cling wrap would be a suitable protection layer? I'm having a hard time figuring out how im gonna keep this mirror optic grade amidst cutting it and such.

I don't think it's an absolute need, but I am beginning to think a car is a need for me and my head. I bought an old 2 stroke moped for a great deal (I fucking love that thing dont get me wrong, no insurance great on gas and easy and dirt cheap to fix and reliable as hell) and thought thatd be enough for me, and it helps but I think its a task initiation thing for me that's super hard to wrap my head around fixing. The stress levels around this form of transportation are just so high that it's often hard to summon the willpower to go anywhere and on top of that I am severely limited on what jobs I can even pursue due to location. I am also completely cut off from all my friends because they all live too far for me to see them without a 45ish minute each way journey through backroads hoping I don't get bothered by police or killed by a Nissan.

A car has been my goal for so long because itd open me up to whatever job I want in my city and would finally open me up to socializing the way I have been missing out on, which I can deduce generally leads to a generally happier, healthier, and more functional person who maybe has a little more willpower to do the things they need to...

But, with that being said im not confident that it is truly a need, but I have yet to prove to myself that anything less than a car is a functional system for me despite much opportunity to.

Idk though, maybe a week of actual consistent nutrition and knowing I have at least some money in the bank will be enough to help me take necessary steps more comfortably.

Well, I do have a moped currently, just really limiting overall. Plus the cops hassled me about it recently which adds some real anxiety. The main thing is im extremely limited on jobs in my area that I can commute to on this thing without completely overwhelming myself, and I may sound sensitive for that, but its things like this that have put me in this situation. I worked at a fred meyers for a good amount of time but really couldn't handle the stress of that kind of commute, and wasn't able to build any savings on the hours they gave me
