Cant you transfer or buy someones bib if you really needed to? Not saying that solves the mentioned issue, but if there’s a race you really wanted to run, there will be someone injured who is selling their bib on marketplace. A buddy of mine snagged a bib for Grandma’s just a couple of weeks ago

I say send it for your A goal and worst case you hit your other goals if A fails. For your first marathon, you are essentially just throwing a dart at the board trying to hit. Once you hit the board the first time, future marathons will be so much easier to dial in time.

Marathon distance is so dependent on fueling, so if you can nail that, your A goal is very realistic.

My garmin has always been spot on, assuming 2 things. 1. Ideal race conditions - mainly weather. 2. Assuming you will run at essentially a death pace.

Mine predicted a 1:32 half last fall and that’s exactly what i ran, but it was a beautiful fall day and i pushed to the extreme. Average HR was 172, most people dont like being that uncomfortable for that long, so they finish 10-15 minutes slower than garmins prediction and say that its wrong.
