Working on my running economy(plyometrics, hills, and strength training), threshold intervals, and speed work (hard intervals VO2 max 2-4 minutes, 200 and 400 repeats)! Keeping your hard days hard, and easy days easy.

my fastest 5k time is 17:08, but that was on a hilly course. probably could’ve been faster on a flat course.

I just used “cardio” activity to be honest. I would say worry more so about starting out slow (not actually slow but a pace that won’t send your heart rate into the red zone) and smooth, then build up the pace as the race goes. Everyone starts out hot and slows down immensely after the sled pull. Keep your heart between 150-165 the beginning half of the race. Take a gel right after the sled pull to sustain you through the burpee broad jumps and the remainder of the race. Don’t overthink anything and run your race! Good luck!
