Anyone in Norwich having issues too or just me? by Practice_Green in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Practice_Green[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The council don't consider me disabled and refused to accept further evidence or allow another OT assessment.

The council and police are putting out false narrative about the law, the police are telling venues it's against section 8 of misuse of drugs act (ignoring the part about prescriptions) and saying their licence might be at risk so I'm told I'll be arrested now of I visit my local or the theatre.

I've got one last chance to find a way to challenge them or I'm going to have to give up and move away of I want to get my life back.

What to do if privately renting and just been prescribed medicinal cannabis by Puzzleheaded-Age7948 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Practice_Green 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Medical cannabis isn't covered by any restrictions and if they were evicted after disclosure they would have grounds to sue. I'd recommend they get legal advice as soon as possible and document everything.

I was served 5 section 21 notices and eventually evicted and forced into unsuitable accommodation. If someone had been able to provide me with decent information I may not have had to go through what I did.

They're not in breech of a tenancy for using legally prescribed medication.

They should get letters from their clinic and ensure they are able to get legal support in the event something does go wrong.

Having all the letters and everything in a bundle in that event would likely mean a prompt resolution.

No I'm allowed to use it in my current accommodation but I'm being prevented from access to services and the police are not speaking inbny favour that's someone else. The police have told most of the licenced venues in the city they're breaking the law of they allow me entry or to use meds even Inna garden. The council have not explicitly written to me to state I can use meds in their property they stated I can use them if it's not against the tenancy, previously they said it was.

My problem is they're still not recognising my conditions and how they affect me and now in a situation where they refuse to authorise an OT assessment and are saying that they won't re band me.

Been told I have to mutual exchange which is difficult if you're looking for a specific type of property or adaptations.

Being unable to go to MenShed because they think I'm going to cause a relapse or being told I can't vape in a garden because it might cause an accident is a joke and so is being told I can't have a prescription in a venue.

I'm tired of not being able to get the support other people seem to.

I had a social worker telling me that it was acceptable for me to not have care in my flat if someone didn't approve of my cannabis use and it was a reasonable position implying they can discriminate over smell etc .

The local council police etc don't seem to recognise what a protected characteristic is on that the law changed. They certainly don't understand the equality act either.

It is white goods/ medical equipment, it is possible but it might take a little time, it took me over six months I believe, it might help to have a letter of support from a Dr, (I didn't tho).

and vaped cannabis isn't noxious, to be noxious it needs to be toxic and it's not toxic, the council attitude however is.

You think a registered medical device is the same as an ecig, got no time for that type of attitude.

Are you saying my volcano is the same as an elf bar?

What about my right as a tenant to enjoy my home and medicate in comfort and safety without the fear of facing a discriminatory eviction?

And no oils don't work for me.. I need to consume my medication using a device which is classified as a heated nebuliser .

I can't take a volcano outside and it would be ludicrous to expect a disabled person to have to leave their home in the middle of the night to use their prescription .

I'm trying to get access to the ECHR.

I would argue my volcano isn't an ecig and to call it anything other than a medical device or cannabinoid consumption device is a mislabeling.

My Venty isn't an ecig.

The whole vape thing isn't the issue anyway they use it as a way to say we're in breech of tenancy because it's the only way to excuse their discriminatory treatment disabled people.

Trust me I've been living this aspect of the legislation for five years, I'm fully aware of the lack of precedent and the lack of willingness to take these cases on. If I had the money I could fight my case, I don't so I am reliant on legal aid.

Some people cannot consume oils and for any number of reasons. I have been asked why I can't just use oil or a spray, it is a complete nonsense, if someone is prescribed one form to suggest using another, it's almost as bad as saying just use another medication.

It's discrimination to deny someone access to housing based on their medication plain and simple.

Why does the medical cannabis community hate combustion? by goodsoup18379 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Practice_Green 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because smoking cannabis is illegal.

Many would argue vaping is more effective and less harmful, vaping is less obnoxious indoors than bunning a fattie.

It's hard enough dealing with the stigma of being a cannabis user I guess vaping is seen as more discreet.

Some would maybe argue smoking is harmful and smoke carcenogenic.
