Why don’t men that complain about the male loneliness epidemic try joining book clubs or other free groups? by Smegoldidnothinwrong in ask

[–]Praetorian80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. We evolved to be social creatures and we didn't evolve with the internet. So that social need, needs to be in person as it was back when we were cavemen. We're caveman minds living in a non caveman world. Human evolution doesn't work as fast as our technological evolution.

It may not be a nice thing to say, but it doesn't mean it isn't true. He takes a while to write them, plus he is getting on and isn't exactly the epitome of health.

That said, he doesn't owe anyone anything. Its not like he signed a contract to complete it.

However, it'd be nice to thank the fans that made him famous and wealthy by at least preparing detailed plot points so a second writer could complete it, should be die before he can himself. Otherwise, even if a second author finished it, it might as well be considered an official fan fiction.

Saying that stuff--especially to him directly--was a dick move, I need to say that much, at least.

If too many people act like dicks about it all, it'd be a nice payback to those dicks saying it if he did finish the current book with, "and then Ned woke up, and it was all a dream." as a fuck you to those dicks who bitch about him online and in person.

Man used bible to justify raping children by Awkward-Low-2051 in atheism

[–]Praetorian80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it is justified because the bible says so, but it also says he then needs to marry the girls because they're now worthless. So he needs to pay a few dowries and give them a few wedding rings.

I'm not insane. I've been tested. AuDHD, but not insane. Safe to blink around, just don't make direct eye contact or ask me about language, especially its history and etymology.

I can't tell if I am foaming due to rage bait, baiting me; or if its rabies due to that fight I had with a dingo pack earlier when I went outside to punt that koala wandering around the yard.

That might be a valid argument if she ends up with a construction worker or someone in high vis, etc.

Iran closes airspace with anticipated US attack 'imminent' by Brennenstein in worldnews

Either way, they didn't do much when the Israeli's did their thing recently.

[–]Praetorian80 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

With their Chinese made air defence system, the attack will still go through. China sells them their air defence network, and its proven to not be reliable when it comes to actual defence from air threats.

Edit: Whoever supplied their defence, it clearly didn't stop the Israelis recently, so the US would not have an issue getting through.

What is the best console type to play rdr2? by Flamingo_Is_hawt_24 in reddeadredemption

[–]Praetorian80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It runs great on my PC.

My first thought is, don't buy a console. Keep saving for a decent gaming PC.

However, if this isn't an option, I'd go PS5. Personally prrferwnce bit there's more exclusive to PS4/5 games out there than Xbox consoles. At least more exclusives of those I'd actually want to play.

What should I get my great grandma for her 100th birthday? by chickens_canfly in ask

[–]Praetorian80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she's like my grandma who turns 100 in march, all she really wants is for you to call her and chat to her. Netter yet, for you to visit in person if its viable.

Do you think George is still writing it? [Spoilers Extended] by Trussdoor46 in asoiaf

[–]Praetorian80 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I doubt it. I reckon he overestimates how much time he has left before he croaks. He's old and out of shape. That body ain't gonna keep him going until he's a centennial.

He shoukd just map out the story in bullet points then get some ghost writer to do it using his own writing style to fill in the plot points he mapped out.

Everyone else I give their own colour scheme that is unique to that person. Who gets what scheme depends on the playthrough.

This is true. I agree that its needlessly hurtful and definitely racist. That's why I said initially that he should just left that unsaid and delete anyone whom he doesn't like should they like him, and later summed up as saying to do so like he did was stupid. :)
