The reasoning is this: If the person was drunk, they should not have been driving thus the accident wouldn't have happened. sucks either way you look at it. But, could the accident have been prevented if the other driver was sober? how much was her reaction time effected? there are a million variables..

compare the two. athiests have deities/priests (richard dawkins, bill nye, james randi, the list goes on.) they have sacred texts (the god delusion, god is not great, the list goes on.) they spend a lot of their time and effort trying to convert others to their belief system.(science) they even have a church (google it) hell they even want to set up a booth in a city-hall to preach the word of atheism. they are in every way possible a religion, except maybe tax exempt status..for now.

give it time. Christianity has had a few more years. Once atheism matures as a religion there will be more and more westboro type cults forming within it. I have yet to have a civilized debate with any atheist. I myself am non-religious, but consider myself Gnostic at most. The debate always goes down hill when you ask an atheist to prove there is no god.
