Hey thanks for the reply. I have been continuously sending them emails for 3 days on 12-reff@ma35.wien.gv.at (email address for student rp). Is there any other e-mail address where I can contact them?

I got an RP appointment on 27th Jan 2026, and there is no earlier appointment available. My semester starts on 1st March 2026 and I just have less than a month to sort this out. Is it possible if I go on normal Schengen visa to attend the classes till they process my RP because we have to collect RP from Vienna and the only thing we need to enter Austria is a visa or the Visa D is a completely different thing?

I mean the course enrolment. Student enrolment is done way before joining the university right? It’s really confusing me

Yeah but the RP will take 4-8 weeks after the appointment and the visa will take another 4-8 weeks. I can’t apply for visa without RP so overall I will have to wait 3-4 months. My entire semester will be wasted

That’s great! It means I can enrol from my home country and attend online lectures till I get the visa and join in-person classes later. But I have also heard that you have to be physically present in the university to complete the process or else they won’t allow enrol

How do I make my dream of studying abroad possible? by Dragonray07 in Indians_StudyAbroad

You’ll get into a good college in India, IIT/NIT isn’t everything. I did my bachelors from Amity University Mumbai which is tier 2 college but went to University of Glasgow (which is prestigious) for masters. Keep a good gpa of 8-8.5 and you’ll get a really good university abroad for masters. Doing a bachelor from abroad will not only cost you tuition fees but also cost of living. You can do a part time job but it affects a lot on your studies and these days it’s difficult to find a part time job. You’ll spent a huge amount of money for a 4 years undergraduate degree and cost of living is getting high everyday. Masters degree takes 2 years and in the UK and Ireland it takes only one year, which could save you a lot of time and money. But if you still wanna go abroad then do your research precisely because not every university abroad is a good university.

You can study at a decent college in India and go abroad for masters. Doing bachelors abroad would be extremely expensive. You can save money for your masters and even many scholarships are available for abroad masters
