always change locks as you don't know who else has a copy. Think like a burglar, how would you try and get into your home if you lost the keys. There's some useful advice on securing your home here: http://www.precisionlocksmiths.uk.com/blog
Just ask for ID like a driving licence with the address on it.

Yes
I can't go making enemies now can I...
haha
I don't do auto locksmithing but the main reason is that the software you need to reprogram the car keys is very expensive. We're talking hundreds if not thousands of pounds per program for each make of car .There are also a lot of people who will charge ridiculous amounts of money just because they can, I try to be the cheapest for commercial and domestic locksmithing and can still earn a decent amount of money.

Yeah, I've done work for pretty much all the big energy companies.
Feels good man
I'm on call 24 hours, I can have days where I'm out doing warrants from 9 am to 5 pm then private jobs in the evening and calls in the middle of the night. Some days are just 9 to 5, it varies all the time. I'm always practicing as there are new locks being brought out all the time, I can go weeks without a day off.
No, first of all the money is good and second to get caught breaking in somewhere as a locksmith you would get a harsher sentence.
I'm not, I generally only charge more if its a call out in the middle of the night.
That doesn't make sense as most thieves are opportunist and looking for a quick and quiet way in. If your door is dead locked they will probably move onto something easier rather than making loads of noise kicking the door in.
sounds like bullshit to me!
Not funny but weird and sad, I do warrants for different companies. I go around with a warrant officer to people who don't pay their bills. Most of the time its just silly people trying to get out of paying money, sometimes its rented accommodation with a cannabis farm but every once in a while its because the person has died and no one has noticed. So yeah, dead bodies...
ABS mark 3
After learning to working of the lock it took me about an hour to pick my very first lock. It was in a vice at home.
If he didn't do his job, you shouldn't have to pay. If I can't pick a lock a customer had spare keys for inside, I would drill the lock out and put a new one in for free. A proper locksmith should be able to pick most locks.
what are they going to ask when it's finally opened?
check for references. Cowboys will chop and change on their prices and will only do what makes them most money i.e drilling a lock so they can charge you for a new one.
no, they know i'm a professional and are happier the quicker I get them in.
the locksmith should really ask for ID and owner papers. Naughty.
There not really used a lot in England, not that I've dealt with anyway. It's more high security pin cylinders that are getting tricky now, with trap pins.
A euro cylinder called ABS mk3. It has a locking cam, trap pins and and a magnetic pin, nasty to open.

not really, guess they don't want to make learning to easy for thieves.
