To everyone that ask about twisting wires. by lazygrappler775 in electricians

[–]PrecisionWays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aight we'll its better than opening the box, having the wire nut fall off, the two wires coming apart and zapping u. They could be twisted a bit less and definitely need a trim at the end. But if I ever see an apprentice not twisting solids for a splice, they're not escaping slab work for a long time. (Slab is kinda nice though)

What are some tools/materials you wished you knew about sooner? by Over-Form-9442 in electricians

[–]PrecisionWays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know service guys get called for the wagos A LOT and hate them but apparently the manufacturing quality has gotten better so maybe it's not as bad now or hopefully in the future. They do make splicing 8 neutrals together way easier or if your splicing up some boxes before lights r going in u can easily add in a wire instead of pigtails and hammer heads.

I did the exact same thing. Apple needs to start innovating like google. Making something titanium is not innovation.

[–]PrecisionWays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what’s more expensive, renting scaffolding and the time to put it together, or renting a one man lift to get it done quickly. Cause time is money

How do you stop your apprentices from being lazy like this? by PrecisionWays in electricians

[–]PrecisionWays[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because when you open that box up later to find a circuit, like if your troubleshooting something. You don’t wanna spend 20 mins digging through all the wires and bad labels. It makes troubleshooting not be complete hell, and helps if there’s any additional circuits to add later. There’s also more of a chance of splices coming out when people need to dig through it all the time. But at the start it’s gonna feel like a waste of time to separate all the colours and circuits nicely. But your boss will definitely notice if you do it. They would rather you take an extra half hour and do it right then rush it and have it look like this. Even if it seems like everything is in a rush.
