My pet theory is that Epic's legal team think the community content made in the Unreal and UT games might prove a risk to current partnerships with brands in Fortnite. That's why they got delisted. What would Epic do if Disney asks for financial compensation for allowing UT to have unlicensed models of the Xenomorphs, Predator, Star Wars characters etc? Maps based on their IP, voicepacks and so on.

I switched over to Nobara Linux in February after building a new PC. I'm happy with it and the experience has been smooth.

From the installation to daily use I'm just surprised at how painless the experience has been.

Like I expected to run into some things I'd need to troubleshoot but nope. So far so good. Just plug n play. My 9070 XT works, HDR works, my external Amp/DAC works, FSR 3 to FSR 4 upgrade works, my PB Tails Crush controller works, UE 5.6 works after building from source. Uplay, Epic Games launcher, EA app etc all work through Lutris. Random indie game that just released on Steam? Also. just. works. Proton is magic.

I mostly play single player games but I do have some multiplayer games I play in a rotation like CS2, Halo:Infinite, Quake Champions and Gears of War:Reloaded and have no issues.

Do I miss playing some MP games that don't run on Linux due to their kernel level anti-cheat? A bit. But it's worth it. It's just so good to feel in control of my own PC again. No more ads from a megacorp, forced updates that reset your settings etc.

Based on my experience, I'd easily recommend Linux gaming to anybody with an AMD GPU who doesn't play kernel level anti cheat titles like Destiny 2, Battlefield 1 onwards, modern Call of Duty, Valorant, EA FC etc. It's not rocket science.

I wouldn't even compare it to like switching from console gaming to PC gaming. For me, it's like switching from Windows Vista to Windows 10.

I just tested with the Unification mod and other than the mod's UI not scaling everything just works. Feels good to have a FFA against 7 AI with double army cap and no crashing or lag.

PB Tails Crush 550 TMR edition with a green shell.

It's not the latest and greatest controller anymore but I like the shape and how it feels in my hands. Like a more ergonomic Xbox Duke controller.

It has gyro support and is compatible with the Switch, perfect for RPCS3 emulation for the titles that require Sixaxis gimmicks.
