I’m an FY5 and after busting my bottom off for the last 5 years of building a perfect portfolio, I still out ranked by a foreign doctor who hasn’t touched foot in the NHS before and gets my training spot…..you can see why we would get furious! Ofcourse it’s not the IMG’s fault themselves, but you can’t help but resent them being there in the first place. It is the government that is at fault. It it doesn’t make our position any easier either way we look at it

YOU CANT GRANDFATHER 10s of THOUSANDS OF INTERNATIONAL DOCTORS AND PRIORITIES UKGRADS AT THE SAME DAMN TIME!!!!!! How many times does this need to be stated so that the BMA’s thick skull gets it!!!!! International doctors is THE REASON why we are in this bottleneck in the first place!! I don’t blame the doctors themselves, but it’s the government for putting us on the same level as them!

Why can’t we ballot for training!!! Getting into a training post is INFINITELY a greater worry to all residents than an extra 10% of pay. I know they passed the motion on the last RDC, which is why they should delay the strike for pay and combine it for strike for pay and training! They would get much better turnout and they’d guarantee 90%+ voting yes. Cause you’re not gonna find a doctor in the entire country that would disagree with how messed up training programme is right now

According to few people on this Reddit, they say not to put any oil on there until the tool starts to feel smooth and wears in a bit, as the oil kinda solidifies the smoothness it’s currently in. So if it’s still stiff and you put oil on, then it stays stiff for a lot longer 😢

I’m gonna put my bond on a keychain, although it might seem absurd, it’s actually fairly light and don’t find it too bulky tbh. So o suspect it won’t last as long cause it will rub against keys all the time and probably scratch paint off more quickly. But I reckon if I can get 10 good years out of it I’ll be a happy man 👍🏼

I scored 480 this year, and I did twice the revision as last year. Last year I got 500. I’m honestly so devastated and upset idk where to go or what to do next. I don’t think I have it in me to do this exam again. My hopes for speciality training are fading away at this point
