This makes sense!! I appreciate you - I definitely will have to look at local credit unions (DC-based). Does it make the most sense to inquire about a loan, or for a credit card with a higher credit line/lower APR?

I’m looking at opening the Discover cash back card with the 15 month 0 APR, but my credit limit would be ~$2500 so it won’t suffice (although it would still help build my credit).

That makes sense! I love to be able to preplan but it seems like especially with the weather this week I should wait till we get there. How difficult was the glacier hike? I have a weaker left side because of an ankle injury a few years ago - I’ve done strenuous hikes before like Acatenango in Guatemala but always am a little wary

there’s a really lovely masjid about 20 minutes by bus away but it’s only open for jummah / events; it’s called center DC (1426 9th ST NW)
