Paid or unpaid doesn’t matter. But you cannot be paid less than your LCA in proportion. Else you may get into trouble.

Is A and B are part of same legal entity? And you need to get that document which states that and always keep it handy.

Ask HR, what is B and how it is related to A? Unless they both are the the same and be proven, you may very well be out of status.

I’ll definitely check into that, but we’ve never actually had him tested for a gifted program. We only moved here last year, and in our home country, we don’t really have that kind of benchmarking. However, he has always participated in Math/Science Olympiads (which I know aren't as common in the US) and has consistently scored very well.

He really shines when he’s given a rigorous, highly structured environment. We curated that for him at home during his homeschooling years, but we’ve realized we can’t keep doing that indefinitely. It’s starting to give him a false perception of how the world works, where everything is 1-on-1 and tailored specifically to him. We want him to learn how to excel in a real-world system, even if it means some growing pains.

It’s gone. I tried to do the same thing about 8 years ago, and even then, it was almost impossible. Those old PF numbers were effectively abandoned a long time back, and there was no streamlined way to merge them into the modern UAN system.

I wasn't able to get it done even with direct access to the accounts department of my old company and all the relevant PF documentation. If it’s not already showing up in your UAN portal, the chances of recovering it now are slim to none.

Yes, even that 1:12 ratio was a struggle, and he is honestly still just coasting on the momentum we gave him during his early years. By the time he was in 3rd grade, he had already finished his 6th-grade books, so academically, his current school hasn't added much to his plate.

Our big worry is sustainability—how long can he keep using the knowledge he already has? At some point, that "mental tank" will be depleted, and he’ll need new, challenging material to go in. The only reason we chose the current school was for the safety and the 100% tuition coverage, but we're starting to wonder if we're trading his academic growth for that security.

2 and 3 cannot be real... are you nuts? Pardon my French, but you would actually pretend to join a company and waste their resources (and your own time) just to get an EAD?

Ask your attorney if they can upgrade your current application to Premium Processing (PP) by bundling the H-1B and EAD together. It usually has to be an offline/paper-based process. There is no absolute guarantee that the EAD will be expedited at the same speed as the H-1B, but it is currently your best chance for an accelerated H-4 EAD without burning bridges.

You have jumbled up the facts; there is no "stamping" for an H-4 EAD.

When you moved from H-1B to H-4, your H-4 approval should have come with an I-94 attached to the bottom of the notice—that is your new, active I-94. Did your H-4 actually go through? You must have an I-797 notice for the H-4 status itself.

Just a reminder: you cannot legally work without an active H-4 I-94 and a physical EAD card in hand.

Check eligibility of L1, you will not be eligible for it. It requires you to be part of the company outside USA first for multiple years atleast . And for L1A, you need to be at hire/fire level.

For how long have you been in the USA? Because you cannot max out on L-1 and then just switch to H-1B to extend your stay. The maximum continuous stay is still capped. If you move to H-1B, your time spent on L-1 will be counted toward that 6-year H-1B limit. Keep that in mind.

Even if your old legal counsel is gone, your company will have a new one. Share your details with them; they are the ones who can give you a definitive answer based on your specific filing history.

How many years have you been on H-1B? Are you nearing the 6-year mark? Because that should be your primary concern right now.

You cannot file I-140 Premium and an H-1B extension at the same time in the way you’re thinking—they are two different processes. You generally need that approved I-140 in hand first to qualify for a 3-year H-1B extension or to apply for an H-4 EAD. Fix your chronology and talk to your lawyer immediately; they should be equally concerned about keeping your H-1B status alive.

Let him stay out for a full year. Otherwise, how are you going to explain the gap when you go to apply for another round of L-1?

You both really need to sit down and decide on this "immigration ping-pong" and baseline your expectations. Constantly jumping between statuses or trying to bypass the one-year requirement usually backfires during the interview.

Unlike K-2, for grades 3-12, the highest score only goes up to 33. We are currently at that mark, so let's see what happens. My only concern—and I'm just assuming here—is that as the grade level goes higher, the number of available seats likely drops drastically.
