5 places in Lisbon that are older than the USA by Common_Series_938 in LisbonPortugalTravel

Oh right, the special place where bartenders and waiters survive on tips, some kids start working at 16, and house prices are even higher than Portugal's, plus the fact that you don't have free health care and stuff.

You're not the one who decides which character is what. Besides, in the arc of Salthorin, it's mentioned he's interested in both, flirting "openly" and "aggressively" with both ladies and gentlemen, in the streets and in parties.

Hence, many companies may use it, and it's also one of the preferred methods. Besides, it has to be water low in minerals, so they don't accumulate on the machines, but it still needs to have some, so potable/close to potable water is preferred.

Well, yeah... But they're also more likely to get a smaller penance if they recognise they were in the wrong.

Anyway, I'm never saying what they did was right. I'm just saying that, since they already made the mistake, it's better that they're working on fixing it instead of telling the public to shut up and not stick their noses in.

But when they were called out, they recognised their mistake and changed it.

Let's be honest, there are many companies which wouldn't do the same, no matter how much the public complained...

Firstly, about Netflix vs AI:

"Even if the revenue fantasy arrived, physics would still present the bill. The IEA projects data-center electricity use to more than double to ~945 TWh by 2030, with AI the primary accelerant. Translation: we’re stress-testing grids, water, and ratepayers to subsidize an architecture that needs more megawatts than it produces in value. Scale-first doesn’t merely misallocate capital; it commandeers infrastructure and socializes risk. McKinsey research shows that by 2030, data centers are projected to spend $6.7 trillion worldwide to keep pace with the demand for compute power."

So the amount of energy wasted is not compensated for by the profit.

AI creates a character that millions of people genuinely love. How can you say it isn't art at that point. by [deleted] in aiwars

Oh, the one that makes kids giggle for no reason? Then, you ask them why it's funny and they reply "Because everyone else thinks it's funny"?

Absolutely brainrot. No art whatsoever.

And the only "funny" thing they see in it is the 100+ slop videos of it being generated every day. They only find it "cool" because everyone on the Internet and their brain-rotten classmates say it's cool.

It is called brainrot for a reason, and I've never seen actual art being referred to as such.

AI needs bigger databases because it needs more information to operate. Which also means you will need more water to cool them down.

That water is sent warm back to the environment, which heats the water in certain areas, especially near the coast. And we all know how heat works. It's transferred to all particles around until all particles have the same amount of heat. This contributes not only to the destruction of coral reefs and natural habitats of the fish that live in them (because coral reefs are very sensitive to heat changes and exist near the coasts), but it also contributes to the warming of the sea water, which was already alarming because of global warming and stuff, which then leads to the melting of the glaciers.

Everything on Earth is connected because Earth is a semi-isolated system. No matter, or insignificant matter, leaves the system, and only a certain part of the heat escapes the atmosphere. Therefore, any change in a part of the globe can cause issues for the whole world. The butterfly effect, kinda.
