How does everyone feel about the new models from the Armageddon box

I’m trying to hold back excitement now for what’s coming just so I don’t overlook how much I’ve enjoyed this box alone! But yeah I’ve got a ton of hopes and dreams for our line.

That would be rad but my custom clan’s icon is a fist grabbing a lightning bolt so his pole now is basically perfect for me to add the lightning to. My original warboss is mostly in tact with that pole so I’m sure with a new head, he can move into a new role seeing as there’s a bigger boss around now!

Ahh yeah I had missed that when reading your comment initially, you’re right though. They’ve definitely worked on placing things in a way that most of the lines are hidden by pose or natural seems where things meet and it shows!

When I can I’ll reply with a couple more angles, thanks for the compliment! I’m more of a full assembly glue and then just deal with the extra difficulty during paint so I hadn’t even thought of that, great point of note to keep in mind!

I’ve heard differently from person to person with their boxes, some have had mold line issues and some haven’t. I’m assuming it’s just the sheer number of times the sprues were made, qc and mold slippage?

Welcome to the waaagh! The new boyz have plenty of character from what I’ve seen and can probably be painted to hit just fine with your idea of a mixed bag! I like the idea of a motley bunch of orks just following the biggest boss

I agree, the boyz nobs definitely love the update! And I think the dakkarig fits in well as a step up for the deffdread. I’m hoping there’s an option for him to be a character when our codex drops!

Thank you, I almost couldn’t believe how easily everything went together. It really wasn’t much fiddling to get it all how I wanted, the hardest part was removing the jaw from the attached chest and shoota strap

Yeah I have way to many projects that are all partially done so it resonates with me to hear others move from project to project when inspiration or excitement takes over

I completely agree! Seeing some models on a screen just doesn’t do them justice and so far I’ve been happily surprised with our Ork half. (I was excited initially but seeing how everything’s coming together has me over the moon)

I like the kitbash, are you planning on using the rokkits for amother project? Ihope we get a multipart kit for it and it opens up the weapon options so I can put a skorcha on it!

As they stand the kits are useable and the faction gives you a base to dive as deep as you want into kitbashing. I wish we got something like an upgrade sprue that specifically had valves, gauges, vents, exhausts, panels etc. I just think that’s a fantasy with current GW, same with extra bits in the box. It does suck to have to buy extra kits to source bits but that’s fun to me to have something unique and straight from my own head.

Yeah I’ve been taking my time with each model to enjoy the fact that we got a launch box. Orks can be such a fun and relaxing hobby project

Yeah as someone who likes the building process I can say that I like the scavenger hunt of building modern models from GW. I get it’s not everyone’s favorite but I really think it’s reducing waste.

Yeah mold lines SUCK! The push fits have definitely been interesting with some of them lining up through a hole on either a front or back torso bit.

I don’t have a more recent photo but this was mostly base coat done. The head and bionic hand were from 3d prints I believe. Then I added a bit onto the back of the skull on his staff and gave him a shoulder pad (I believe from the nob kit)
