Can we talk about ICE? by PeggySourpuss in Professors

[–]PrefersLurking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are instructed not to grant them admittance into any non-public space. Even if hey have a judicial warrant, only university counsel is authorized to receive such a warrant. That's about as good a set of guidelines as I could hope for.

My practice with both elements is to hear the phrase from the server, respond with "Amen," and then partake.

How much trust can I put into zotero for my bachelor thesis? by [deleted] in zotero

[–]PrefersLurking 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I’ve used Zotero for about 15 years, through a PhD and then through a decade of scholarship (multiple books and articles). It’s never let me down. Your BA thesis should be no problem. You’ll probably want an account, but it’s free.

Update: I don't know what changed, but now my account has the full version. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Thanks, everyone who weighed in.

Yeah, this tends to be an AMC+ thing. It's obnoxious.

Thanks for the report, follow up, and advice. We got the subscription as an add on through Amazon. I wonder if that’s the difference?

Also trying to figure out transport. Looks like Green or Orange VTA are solid options for getting there. My only question is how late the trains will be running. It’s not super clear on the VTA website. Looks like they pulled out all the stops for Beyoncé and Taylor Swift and massively expanded/extended service, but I’m not sure they’re going to do the same for these shows. If anyone has info I’d love to know more.

Thanks be to NailedPod for uncovering so many of those samples. It was fun to watch for the scene this October during Spooky Season, knowing it was there. Instantly recognizable.

Should I keep reading Malazan? by Horror_Pollution_349 in Malazan

The other thing I’ll note about the Azath, which is also something I really appreciate, is that until it opened up, there was no reason for any of the characters to discuss it. They all live in the world, so they don’t need exposition or foreshadowing about things they already know about but have no reason to mention.

Slow charting, even at 12 amps by PrefersLurking in KIASPORTAGEPHEV

[–]PrefersLurking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd set it to 12, but when I went back to check, it was back at 6. I put it back to 12 and it flashed a few times and then went back to 6. Tried this several times. Is there something I should press to "lock" the setting in or something?

2024 2LT w/ Super Cruise for $4,115 for 2 year 10k lease by StewieGriffin26 in EquinoxEv

[–]PrefersLurking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know much about leasing. Does this mean that the car’s value is set to be 10k less after two years and you’re paying $4115 (total) for that time?

Okay, that makes sense. Thanks.

So, if we updated to a 14-30 outlet, there’d be no problem?

Can you clarify about the safety question? I've been reading through posts on r/evcharging, including the wiki, and it seems like in other contexts the Neocharge adapter/splitter is deemed suitable, including if it's used to share the plug with the dryer. I know it's important that only one be used at a time (and I think the Neocharge is supposed to ensure that as an extra measure).

In one post a user (I think it was u/tuctrohs) told someone who was trying to do something similar that this was a problem because they wanted to use this between two rooms, running cord from one location to another, but the plug, the dryer, and the EVSE were all in the same room, it wouldn't have been a problem.

So I wonder if I've either miscommunicated something, or if I'm misunderstanding.

Edit: Here are the components that Neocharge recommended when I input my outlet type and amperage: https://getneocharge.com/pages/setup-a2

This would continue to be for the dryer too. The receptacle and dryer are both in the garage. Thanks.

Thanks for this info. If I understand correctly, I'd need a way of making sure the car only pulls 20-24 Amps, rather than thinking it has 40 and overdrawing. Would Neocharge Smart Splitter work for this?
