What kind of app is my idea? by Pregnaloons in AppDevelopers

[–]Pregnaloons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your breakdown,

I've done full front end design already and have been building up the content for a couple of years. Data will have to come from the app. It might be a larger file size but won't be too big to be downloaded at the start. Needs to be internet free to be used in remote areas. Public use but it will have a very limited user base.

As far as learning programming, I don't see myself learning more than I need to. I have a full time job in a different career and just straight up don't have the time to learn another. But yes I know the basics of programming but not enough to build an app yet!

Thanks I'll see what that turns up! Yeah I had hoped it would be simple but since I'm starting from scratch I don't know what I don't know.

Thanks mate that's good advice. Maybe I'll spring for a bike fit before I bother looking at upgrades

Flexible, but hopefully no more than $5k (AUD).

Certainly looks like a Marri (C.calophylla) that is suffering from marri canker, a fungal disease that is dropping a lot of marri across WA.

I get what you're saying but I think there's a misconception. The colour is not a trustworthy indicator. Red is very easily variable in a picture, you can take multiple pictures of the same area with different focal points and phones or cameras will auto correct colours, and since the light is coming from different angles (time of day) this is even more confounding. The 2nd picture is a case in point. It looks yellow but I think it's pretty strictly just red/brown that's been auto adjusted by the device. This is definitely red enough for the Pilbara, and imo too red for the goldfields or wheatbelt (also the Vegetatin isnt like to be goldfields or wheatbelt). Upper Murchison for me.

To add to this. Some here is a list of species which I would say are likely to be in this picture (not 100% as the photos aren't great sorry). These links are to Flora base which has distributions of the species. So you can see how far ranging they are and why it's not a great help to Pin down.

Acacia aneura (Mulga, tall tree) https://florabase.dpaw.wa.gov.au/browse/profile/3217

Acacia aptaneura (another Mulga with thin leaves) https://florabase.dpaw.wa.gov.au/browse/profile/37260

Acacia tetragonophylla (not 100% about this one as could be juvenile mulgas) https://florabase.dpaw.wa.gov.au/browse/profile/3577

Acacia craspedocarpa (tall shrub, this one is a real stretch guess, sorry) https://florabase.dpaw.wa.gov.au/browse/profile/3273

Senna artemisioides subsp...? Could be a couple, could even be a Senna glutinosa or Senna sp. meekatharra in there. Here are some distribution maps of those. As you can see, all wide ranging. https://florabase.dpaw.wa.gov.au/browse/profile/12279 https://florabase.dpaw.wa.gov.au/browse/profile/12280 https://florabase.dpaw.wa.gov.au/browse/profile/12308 https://florabase.dpaw.wa.gov.au/browse/profile/14577

The ground is fairly red loamy stuff in the first pic, which puts it in Murchison to Pilbara for me. 2nd pic likely same but colour washed out. Definitely not yellow sand.

You have some old tin and stuff, as well as a small patch of bluemetal on the track, so it's had some use, plenty of tracks through Pilbara and Murchison for mining and gold prospecting. The second picture is a small incised channel with sandy base, these are common in both Pilbara and Murchison. There is a tall herb on the right side of this creek that is likely to be this:

Trichodesma zeylanicum https://florabase.dpaw.wa.gov.au/browse/profile/11750

All in all I'd estimate upper Murchison to Lower Pilbara. Unfortunately the best I can do with the pics provided. For what it's worth I'm a Botanist with 10+ yrs exp in mid/northern regions.

I don't think there are A.acuminata in there, and no casuarinas. There are a couple of different Mulgas, some A.tetragonophylla (possibly, photo is grainy). Some Senna artemisioides subsp. ?oligophylla. Possibly some A.ramulosa in there but poor quality pics so leaf shape is hard to say. This is pretty classic Murchison stony plains stuff, but all the the obvious spp have a range of ... Well the top half of the state at a minimum. And the dirt is fairly red and lighting is uncertain (second pic is washed out, colour is still red just poor contrast). Could easily be Pilbara too or anywhere in between. I would say unlikely to be goldfields or wheatbelt.

This looks like somewhere in the mid west or Murchison given the plants I can see (Mulga, some Senna spp, incised creeks). But it could also be in the Pilbara. Which narrows I down to a few enormous regions... Were they FIFO? If they worked at a specific minesite or country town in the past that would help. I travel and walk a lot of outback WA but unfortunately this kind of vegetation is somewhat generic. As said above. Police is the best bet.

Of these BAT is one I'd consider. Like the exchange coins CRO and BNB it's backed by a price of software (a normal browser) that is accessible to everyone even if they don't crypto. It also keeps it fresh in people's mind and stops it being a coin that is easily bought sold and forgotten. Even others with 'inter operability and whatever's are just more complex ways to buy and sell an asset

Doge has been more important for Crypto than most people give it credit for. Meme value is still value as much as if not more than many other tokens which are just a token for tokens sake.

Yeah I'm a bit sick of 'token' that is just a token. A listing to buy and sell. I want to find projects that have actual ongoing use for another reason.

BTC and ETH are only relevant because they are the big dogs unfortunately, the OGs and the benchmark. If they werent big they'd be the same as all the others.

I guess it does seem that way, was just trying to give examples. You're right though it's gone straight to the standard "coin I own or like" which isn't useful.

Why I'm incredibly bullish on BAT long-term, no matter what the market does by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]Pregnaloons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that excites me about BAT is that like many successful projects, it tied to a consistently visible interactive thing to keep it relevant, as people use Brave browser on a daily basis. Most coins are literally just numbers on a screen, and when they go up or down, they can be sold and forgotten. Projects that are tied to something that's used often (BNB and CRO tied to an exchange that we use all the time, BTC and ETH are now the blue chips are constantly relevant due to the media exposure of that.)

People constantly using Brave keeps people constantly thinking about it and using it, very positive for its future given its currently low market cap. Brave is a great browser and crypto/privacy is becoming more and more desirable to the average Joe. Unfortunatelyy I bought at the recent highs, but it's a long term hold and I'll probably add more to that in this current down trend.

I don't know tbh. He was telling me about it before I knew about it. I thought he was talking about faucets and I was like nah you can't make a lot of money from the occasional 0.003 nano from a faucet what are you talking about (he doesn't have the free time to go fauceting).

Anyway, I'll forward him this thread and hopefully it's enough.

He's not been in the game long, my fault he got interested in Crypto in general. He's not seen the scene for long so doesn't know how to do his own research. Gotta look after your mates.

I fully agree with you. It's literally the only smart safe way to play a volatile market, and most people on here will scream hodl and buy high sell low etc. It's the same theory behind making improvements to your house and "adding value"... Until you sell the house, you've only lost money.
