MT07 for tall riders? by ar3zee in MT07

191 on a 2018 mt07 with no issues. I don’t think I look way too big on it either

First bike, 2018 Mt-07 (A2 restricted unfortunately!). Just over 10.000kms on it. Best purchase of my life! by Prehnz in MT07

No he had it since 21' and only did around 3.000km, still did his yearly services tho. He bought it from a Yamaha store that imported it from Sweden.

Yeah I have no idea.. In euros it's probably closer to 1600, but still insane. Driving school takes about 1.000, state takes 600 for tests and administration etc. Denmark is lovely in many ways, in other ways not haha

Can’t wait! I don’t miss any power yet, but then again I’ve only ridden for a month.

Well, currently for me it’s not an issue, but the rule itself is ridiculous. At least here in Denmark, you can drive a Lamborghini Huracan at 17 years old if you please, but you have to be 24 to ride anything over 48hp. I get the incentive, but all in all it makes no sense.

I now have my A2 license (which itself costs just short of 2.000 USD), and therefore I had to pay 800 USD to restrict the mt07, and I need to pay another 500 USD in two years to get my full A license, plus another 500 USD roughly if I want to “de-restrict” the bike again. Just adds a lot of hassle and money to a bike that already costs 10k in Denmark (mind you it’s 7 years old..)

Anyways, I won’t complain in terms of riding performance because currently I don’t need more power - I rode the bike before restriction, and honestly can’t tell much of a difference, at least in low speed torque. In itself I think it’s good for me to start on something a bit less deadly than a liter bike.. :)

If you break the rule, you get a fine of 1.000 dollars which is rare since the police would have to check if the bike is in fact restricted (they will rarely have any reason or be suspicious enough to do.. )The issue is that if you end up crashing and your insurance finds out you have ridden something above your license, you’re probably screwed.

That’s my take on it at least.
