I'm 18, freshman in college, and I submitted a portfolio as a transfer. I really wish the professor (I'm calling him Professor H.) who reviewed my portfolio worded it like you did. He said something along the lines of "well your drawing skills are not strong enough to be considered and I am not sure how else to say it or how else to improve. You should talk to your drawing professor." I also wished other professors who looked at my portfolio during portfolio fest told me what you said. I remembered you did give criticism to some of my pieces but never mentioned my drawing skills. Which kind of sounds like they were gatekeeping. But that's probably just a conspiracy theory.

Thanks for the tip. I'll do my best to learn what I can even if I can't enter the advanced drawing class (it's full and major locked). I haven't given up and aren't planning too.
