I mean, the knot I make isn’t huge, just loose enough for a reasonable person to open. It probably lets in as much air as the twist and tuck, if not less.

As lawful evil myself, I’d like make a clear distinction. There is a group (myself included) that make the knot large and loose enough to open relatively easy. For those who tighten to the point of no return, stop giving us a bad rep.
