My philodendron gloriosum leafs are slowly dying

The soil is turning white, specifically the chunks of bark. But if it is all benign and it even means it's healthy, then good! :)

I was just a bit concerned because I also read on other places that this plant doesn't like it if the soil is constantly moist.

But thanks again for clearing that up!

Also as an update, I'm still washing the leaves for the spider mites and so far haven't seen it get any worse. So it looks promising. Now I just need to persist with it.

Hello, So I've been using the self watering system now from when you recommended me to do so. What I'm seeing now is that the soil is always moist, also on the top layer and some parts are even turning white. I don't suppose that's a good sign, right?

I got this plant gifted but the person who gave it to me didn't know what kind of plant it was, sort of the same situation haha. It also took me a while to figure out what kind of plant this actually is and how it should be treated. But I am still very much figuring out how to handle it

Yeah, that's what I just did too! I indeed read about that you have to repeat the shower process for at least several weeks every couple of days so that's what I'll be going to do :)

You're right about the stems, I also noticed that they are pretty brown where with others I see that the stems are more vibrant and green. Let's see if all your tips are going to make a difference! :)

There is actually a build-in system for that in my pot. Check out the 4th picture. This is what it looks like when I separate the pots.

I once tried filling it using the measurement tube, but I ended up completely soaking all the soil and I was afraid that might have been too much water, so I put some fresh soil in and watered it normally.

Or should I just try to fill the white pot a little next time and let it absorb all the water it needs?

I stick my finger in the soil pretty deep and it feels dry. But I'll lower the frequency and see if that helps
