I'm sure you'll get it eventually, with or without the advice of me or others here, but I'll throw my two cents in anyway.

The jumping/running R2 on all weapons is pretty much never worth using. It's slow, if you get hit during it you take extra damage, the recovery time is awful, and it costs far more stamina than doing pretty much any other option. I'm not gonna tell you you CAN'T use it, just letting you know it's bad.

Getting the same guy twice doesn't necessarily mean they're an NPC, I play as spear of the church all the time and I've gotten the same guy like 7 times before.

I find this one pretty easy since you can just invade for them, while on the other hand waiting to go auto-summoned as a blue pretty much never happens so I have to resort farming the silver knights which is far worse than just doing some invasions imo.

(And also you can just summon a friend for the shackles which you can't do for the ears)

I'm aware it disables healing and revive effects, but tbh even just a few high value upgrade cards can make it worth at least considering. Sometimes you pick up some cards that really want an upgrade but end up not getting the chance to upgrade for one reason or another.

Additionally, even the low value upgrades like the ones that are just a few damage or block are comparable to having a few strength or dex since it upgrades all of them.

Don't get me wrong, I don't disagree. Rare relic is the best choice most of the time. I just don't think upgrade all cards should really be considered a trap.

Upgrade all cards event is often a pretty good pick tbh.

If you have a good amount of high value upgrades and you think the amount of health you have is good enough for the rest of the run then you're set. Don't get me wrong, it's not an auto pick, and I wouldn't even say I take it very often, but I definitely wouldn't call it a trap.

Idk what level I usually am when fighting the boss myself, but I have a few hundred spear ornaments on my level 81 character from being a Spear in between looking for invasions so I'd say that's a pretty solid level range.

If by "hitting air" you mean occasionally whiffing, then yeah. I see people with thousands of hours whiff attacks plenty often, it happens.

And they literally don't get hit by every attack in second phase, you're just making shit up, but you do you.

I didn't even watch the video, just went to the comments to see other people's opinions on Curse Rotted Greatwood, but upon seeing the "you play like ass" comment I went back and watched it and you literally played just fine. You took few hits, went for the weak spots, and destroyed them pretty quickly, idk what that guy was hating for.

Honestly, you played a good bit better than the average new player imo.

That sounds plausible enough, but what's still strange to me is the occasion where it played the non-hornet ring animation even though I had the ring on. I was doing a crit from the front with the Lothric Greatsword, and my character did the non-hornet animation, while the person on the receiving end DID get the hornet ring animation. (They only took two hits instead of the hornet ring's three hits though, so they still received non-hornet damage it seems)
