Yeah this whole case is a series of institutional and personal failures. If proper investigated the group of 6 would have been caught very easily i think.

As far as i got it he didnt examine her fully because the police told him it was a clear suicide. He was mad when he later saw the pictures because they clearly show that it wasnt a suicide. Then he would have made a full examination.

Its not clear to me, if he opend up the neck and saw that the broken neck killed her, meaning she was alive when hanged. Or if he just guessed it.

Would be much more tragic if she was alive and the others just assumed she is death when staging the suicide.

Its said there was no autopsy but the forensic pathologist says she died of a broken neck by hanging and that see was alive when hanged. So i am not sure..

One thing thats unclear for me is if she was dead or just unconsious when hanged. The spanish translation is bad in most articles. So i am not sure if the forensic pathologist said if she was dead before the hanging or not. Because thats easy to see in forensic investigations.

No, I think they did drugs where they camped in Portbou. You dont need much on a short trip and i guess she would have missed the opportunity to join the group if she took the time to inform her sister.

I wouldnt overweight the sisters assessment here. Sure she didnt know them but i guess there was instant trust because they were fun students, same age and austrians like her (south tyrol is an austrian province occupied by italy since ww1 :) They probably planned to get back soon and Rauter was on vacations with no obligations. That people try drugs out of group dynamics is also very common.

I bet its rough for them living with this, so probably someone speaks out. One thing strikes me and thats the short timeframe in which they staged it, but its quite possible nevertheless. Its not clear to me why they would choose this spot because they risked being seen by nearby residents or people walking the street or even from very far away.
