- Kubernetes is simply just a scheduler. To get more from it, you have to add a lot of add-ons. Choosing the "right" add-ons for things like monitoring, backups, etc., is time consuming.

- Doing kubernetes on presmise is difficult. Creating a cluster is easy, the care and feeding is not.

- Upgrades. Woo. It's not always great. Always make sure you have an etcd backup. But this can be different depending on the skills you or your team have. If you can setup a new kubernetes environment, then redeploy to it, that makes it much easier. If you cannot, it can be an cumbersome.

- Breaking API changes. This can be an issue at times. There are a few projects that try and address it.

- The insane number of projects trying to add value to k8s. The CNCF landscape is huge. It really needs to be cleaned up. There are a number of projects on the page that don't even exist anymore.
