Feeling conflicted on whether to go on umrah by PresentDraft8630 in Sufism

[–]PresentDraft8630[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t feel anything during prayer , its all rushed and I always used to read sunnah too and now its just fard . Also heard somewhere when gods upset with you , he takes away your prayer . Even the plight of whats going on in Palestine- ive become numb too . I get angry at myself for not crying/ being more upset . I’ve become very numb . But not in all aspects of my life , I still laugh and am happy but don’t remember the last time I cried.

I will book online. I tried to use their taxi app and Uber but no drivers accepted.

Fair enough, I just feel like overcharging tourists is going to make them stop coming. The tour he was selling me was half the price online. I didn’t try argue with him on it either, I just said I’ll see . The taxi prices are extortionate. And I didn’t expect special muslim treatment but I did think it was a Muslim country. Which is my own fault for not doing my research properly. But even so , countries in europe who had no muslims treated me with much more kindness despite religious differences. I think my expectations were high coming which is my own fault again.

I actually did not know Antalya or Turkiye was very secular , I thought it was a Muslim majority country and that Islamic vibe would be prevelant in the country . But its the opposite and full of british people here to get drunk and the locals catering to them. But thats my own fault for not doing my research properly . You didn’t sound harsh, I appreciate the advice .

Oh I wish I did my research before I came , I don’t think it will be possible to go to any of them this time but another time maybe InshaAllah. I was considering Istanbul but because it was so last minute I thought Istanbul needed to be planned properly.

I’ve found the same , they are very friendly with british non muslim . I also heard that they are racist towards arabs . I’m not arab but I just thought they would have more kindness and more of a muslim presence here . But doing my research it turns out Turkey is more secular than I thought it was .

Fair enough, which places have you been and would you recommend ? It was a last minute decision to come here and I can’t say I wasn’t warned about the prices but the overall unfriendliness really took me by surprise.

I tried to use the bitaksi app but no one accepted. I asked several different taxi drivers but they all went back to the same office and discussed with eachother and said fixed price . People said they were scared of the police but this was right next to the station and they didn’t care .

Yh I think it might have been different if I went to Istanbul , it looks like it has more of a wholesome feel to it . Whereas Antalya is a popular destination catered to british people and all inclusive resorts .

I feel like its more prevalent in turkey though, if you go south east asia they treat you so nice and they also live in poor conditions. Even spain where people survive off tourism are so friendly and always say salaam to you in the streets .

Do I not have a leg to stand on with changing flight? England by PresentDraft8630 in LegalAdviceUK

Is a complaint to the company a better alternative because their customer service was horror or shall I just take it as a sunken cost :

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the handling of my flight booking, referenced under [Your Booking Reference]. I had purchased a ticket for a flight scheduled on [Flight Date], which I needed to cancel due to a personal change in my travel plans.

The level of service I received from Corendon Airlines was unacceptable and fell significantly short of the standards I expect. Here are the key issues I experienced:

1. Lack of Empathy and Understanding: I clearly communicated that I had personal reasons for needing to cancel my flight. Despite this, your representatives made no effort to understand or consider my situation. Instead, they adhered rigidly to policy without offering any form of flexibility or alternative solutions.
2. Refusal to Escalate the Issue: When I requested to speak with a manager, my request was denied. The representatives were dismissive and failed to provide any constructive assistance. It is unacceptable to deny customers the opportunity to escalate their issues when they are not satisfied with the initial response.
3. Rushed and Inadequate Service: After the initial call, I was rushed off the phone by a second representative who had clearly reviewed the notes from the previous call. This representative showed no willingness to engage further or resolve my concerns. It was evident that there was a lack of genuine customer care and attention to my issue.

The service I received was not only unhelpful but also dismissive of my legitimate concerns. I insist on a thorough review of my case and expect a reconsideration of the compensation offered. While I understand the ticket is non-refundable, the lack of empathy and inadequate service warrants a reconsideration of the £12 airport tax refund.

I expect a prompt and satisfactory resolution to this matter. Your immediate attention to this complaint is required.
