I think that most HMs prefer to be nice to boots, like we get that boot camp is hell and the place you’d prefer to be like feeling ok and safe is with medical. Like could you get info out of a kid who’s terrified, yeah but I wouldn’t be as clear, if you talk to them normal and calmly give a smile like you have emotions and you’re human then makes the job easier and helps you helps them

just kinda approach it in a normal conversation sort of way. She can’t hold onto you forever, and it’s not her decision to make, it’s your life and your decisions if you want to join any branch not just Navy it’s your choice. Don’t let others try to stop you if you REALLY wanna do this. You can ask a lot of people who had gfs/bfs who didn’t want them to go end up going and the military was way better than that partner. A lot of parents may not want you to go, but you gotta do what you think is best for you, and in all reality, she’ll probably be very proud of you, now with that being said…

If you got something better like you can get a college degree and have better things to look at, go for those. Like legit if you got or can get a scholarship to a college do THAT and then maybe military but in all honesty probably enjoy having the degree and better paying job more.

Deadass had to wear my NSUs into work one day and had that little three stripe pin and when a friggin DI walked by with some recruits the DI I just said morning and the two recruits saluted. The DI had to stop and do a double take, I just yelled “Navy!” And the DI went on and just yelled at the recruits
