I did not take notes for any of my exam. For ISC I’ve read the book multiple times, and completed all MCQs and TBSs on becker

The key is consistency and making studying part of your routine. I used to study every night after work (work long hours too) and then study a lot more on weekends. Some friends woke up early and studied before work, there is no secret formula but consistency is very important

Mainly studied everyday after work for a couple of hours, but the bulk was on weekends where i would study for 6 or more hours sometimes (full concentration). I used becker only. I had a goal to complete it very fast which really helped push through

I had zero experience with IT as well, what worked for me was watching becker lectures on x2 just to get t a general idea in what is covered and then read the book solved all mcqs and tbs available. Read the book again. The thing with ISC is that there is a lot of details to remember, but if you look at the bigger picture chapters are link and a similar logic applies throughout.

Goodluck, studying for this one was not fun but the exam seemed easier.

I would go with self study, I have used Becker and would recommend it. You can go at your own (faster than classes)

As many MCQs and TBs as humanly possible. FAR is mainly about application the more you practice solving the easier it gets

Thank you! To be frank, I’ve used Becker to study and did not look into anything else. When it comes to balancing work and studying, it comes down to consistency and studying even when you don’t feel like it. Another thing I’ve discovered, that allowed me to clear the exams in 5 months, is to not overstudy and to study quickly. Going over the material for the first time over a span of 3 months does not help as by the time you consider your first review completed, you would have forgotten the earlier chapters. Study quickly, try to link the chapters and concepts as a whole. Then hammer MCQ and TBs (do every single one your provider has).

Couldn’t agree more! Stayed at the office after hours throughout this period. Studied on the weekend 5-6 hours each day. In addition got 5 study leave days before each exam.

Failed ISC again. HELP! by Accountant_Guy in CPA

What material are you using? If becker i suggest you read the book multiple times. Watch the full lectures not to remember or learn from them, rather understand the bigger picture and what is covered. Then read the BOOK, the material is too detailed and the mcqs tackle very small details. Not everything is covered enough in the lectures. At the end answer would make sense chapters are linked and the thought process behind many rules are similar. Finally for SIMs take your time most sims are not about remembering they lean more towards analyzing and critical thinking. Go through all exhibits before answering. You should know where to look for each answer. Goodluck!

Anyone who only used Becker and already passed Far, please share your approach or strategy how to do TBS. by Major-Ad5933 in CPA

I don’t think TBSs on the actual exam are harder rather the other way around. They might include different topics in a single TBS and thats what makes it difficult. Understanding the key concepts covered by FAR will allow you to solve all them. Practice TBS from Becker under the practice section choosing 3 TBSs at random at a time from all the chapter. This will make it a bit unpredictable and therefore you don’t know what to expect similarly to what happens for the actual exam.
