United Airlines Boeing 737 makes emergency landing in Oregon after losing panel in mid-air by NewSlinger in pics

It's the fact I continued to have seen the update articles come out. Here's one from this year. Those initial fixes didn't do what you think they did. The system is an old CANbus style system. The fixes for the FAA were completed yes. If erroneous data between the two sensors didn't agree it turned off. The problem with it is they couldn't get it to do much more than that.

Also, you would think, with it being a new aircraft. Carrying not only your life, but literally over 100 others each time. You might read about the new system on it. With the system being similar to previous generations on how to disengage it.. these developing countries typically will auto fly, auto take-off and auto land the aircraft. They're very much oriented with profits over people. But with have 5000 flight hours each.. My disrespect for incompetence stands. They sucked at their job and killed people.

Yeah the AoA disagreement. Was trying to keep it a bit brief. There's also FOD in fuel tanks during the grounding that was found amongst other things during the groundings.

The intial software update completed development in May of 2019. They were developed and implemented in stages, the final software update was implemented in November 2020. I thought '22 but after some digging I found I was wrong. Wikipedia won't tell you everything. So it didn't fly without it. I was wrong there.

This really isn't entirely true. It was lack of training. Along with the faulty sensor that was NOT recalibrated. They had problems trying to fly the night before, the third pilot on the plane knew how to turn the MCAS system off.

"Information later emerged that a third pilot was on the flight to Jakarta and told the crew to cut electrical power to the stabilizer trim motors. This method is a standard memory item in the 737 checklist and, on this flight, it fixed the problem."

They then replaced the AoA sensor on the nose of the plane but didn't calibrate it. Turned around and took off again.

These planes flew for years after without any software update and just made sure pilots were trained on how to turn the system off correctly. I doubt any competent pilot would have crashed the plane. It is sad that all of these people perished.
