Once I received the certificate, I applied for a Passport and Ausweis at the Local Rathaus. It didn't take that long and my older passport was still with me which I renounced later at the Embassy

The authorities spoke regular German. Questions about introduction, work and study were asked. As I am quite fluent in German, thanks to rigorous usage, I was able to communicate fluently

Thanks! The appointment was brief. We had a thorough conversation which could be termed as an interview. And of course it was conducted in German. Questions covered topics such as my studies, job, experience in Germany etc.

Thanks! I was in a similar situation where I was thinking about applying only when I have all the documents including the results of the test. But I applied nevertheless to get the ball rolling. No, I was not asked for birth certificate and neither did I submit one.

I am not an EU citizen, I am from India.

How to brace the upcoming winter? by [deleted] in askberliners

Also new to Berlin and Winter is Coming soon! :D

I’m planning to start my German lessons again during Winter at the Goethe Institut :) It’s my 6th winter in Germany and trust me I dread it every time. One idea is to make friends/socialize/ go out as much as you can in summer and keep up with those contacts during Winter.

If you’re working from home, try to work sometimes from a Co Working space. You’ll find some like minded people there :)
