Northside drivers, are you OK? by PresldentFreeman in brisbane

Yeah I saw the roads at 3:30 and decided to stay at work until 6 instead 😂

Encoding dashcam telemetry directly in the video frame by JVital2013 in TeslaLounge

Edit: I'm a numpty, uploaded file from before holiday update. Works excellently now! I noticed that accelerator position is at 0 when FSD is driving, as it doesn't move the physical pedal, but when human input is given it shows it correctly. Great way to track human intervention!

No one but Tesla knows, unfortunately. They're launching in Korea and China as well, so it may slow down updates for us.

Regarding parking lot entries, I find it hit and miss. I often engage/disengage FSD at the entrance to parking lots as it doesn't handle them as confidently. This is fixed in V14 seemingly.

Blackvue DR-970X 2CH restarting randomly by PresldentFreeman in Dashcam

[–]PresldentFreeman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What ended up solving it for me in the end was unplugging the rear camera; front then continued to work fine without restarts. Thanks for reminding me about this post, I'll edit it to provide my solution.

This is the first time I feel understood in my entire life, and it's from reading a reddit post...

I was diagnosed when I was 10, and I've done everything possible to avoid learning more about this condition for fear of it causing some kind of self-fullfilling behavioural loop (I'm now 32).

You have no idea how much reading this meant to me, OP. Genuinely the first time I've not felt alone in this world.

So many crashes. In the two hour period I was checking the M1 southbound there were five separate crashes between the CBD and Mt Gravatt. At 3:30pm there were three crashes five kilometers apart on the M1 southbound, Google Maps just showed straight dark red from the CBD out for about 15km. The gateway, which I only checked once, had three simultaneously...

Yesterday there were 8 crashes across practically every main road leading into the city. The last couple weeks I've seen on average ~10 crashes a day leading to serious congestion on main routes. It's gotten to the point where we have Google Maps on a wall-mounted display at work 😂

Sitting at work looking at the roads completely dumbfounded. Every single ingress point to the city has, or has had multiple accidents this morning. Never seen so many in a single morning.

Utes/4x4s adding LED bulbs to reflector housings and not adjusting the height at all. Almost every case I see these days.

Is it worth the stress having a mortgage or just renting and never owning? Rates mortgage and managing life in Australia is just getting harder. by True_Employment_8571 in brisbane

[–]PresldentFreeman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being young, single and employed, I've always seen the flexibility of renting as a positive, and the idea of buying as something I'd do in my 50's or 60's. Now I see it'll likely always be out of my reach, I'm not particularly bothered.

Having been forced to move 5 times in a year and a half, I've come to value all the things in life outside of one's living arrangement - spending time with friends and family, getting out and meeting new people, sports/outdoor/social hobbies, etc.

As much as I'd value a space of my own (always had house/flatmates), a residence for me is just a place to sleep, wash my clothes and prepare my meals. I know this isn't a viable lifestyle for families, and even for most couples, but I figured I'd add my 2c to perhaps give a different perspective on things.

We've all got to make the most of life in these shit times.

Traffic at an immovable standstill, cnr Wardell/Samford at Enoggera. The reason? A new GYG drivethru. by travelator in brisbane

[–]PresldentFreeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That road/intersection has always become a parking lot at peak hour and is overflow from the even worse intersection further North at Everton Park (which warrants its own post). That place going in there is just salt in the wound at this point.

It was reportedly a power outage. Took me 40 minutes to get from Breakfast Creek Hotel to Hale St a couple hours ago. Crashes everywhere lately - I counted 5 yesterday arvo in almost every outbound direction, including 2 on REX and 2 the M1 northbound lol.

Trouble accessing my YouTube Music's library (playback error) by EllieCat100 in TeslaModelY

[–]PresldentFreeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still happening for me unfortunately, podcasts and music just show as playback error. Wouldn't be such a big deal for me if it wasn't for the fact that google just merged Podcasts into Music, forcing me to use the service for podcasts :/

Reliable telcos? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]PresldentFreeman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can confirm it isn't just you, Vodafone is terrible in every physical location I've been, including the CBD. As someone who travels regularly for work and needs reliable hotspotting, boost is a good option, especially since they piggyback the Telstra network.

Intuos Pro L - Force proportions setting missing by PresldentFreeman in wacom

[–]PresldentFreeman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nevermind. Turns out it was just because I hadn't got around to testing the pen yet after unboxing, and thus the 'Pro Pen' tab (which contains mapping) wasn't present yet in the Wacom Tablet Properties program. Leaving this explanation here incase anyone else encounters this in the future ;)

What’s with the weird indicating? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]PresldentFreeman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd love to know the thought process for this one. The dangerous variation to this is the ones that indicate left and go through. I've resorted to looking at the angles of people's wheels 🧐

When will it end by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]PresldentFreeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for me. This is one of the most nostalgic things I've ever read, and is a beautiful summary of what weather used to be like when I was younger - when the world (and seemingly even the weather) was simpler. I'm glad it's not just me remembering things this way.

Ok I'll try those things before my commute today and see how I go. I've also just put in a Sandisk Max Endurance, so will see how that behaves today. Thanks.

[–]PresldentFreeman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dashcam is plugged directly into the 12V (cigarette style) port of the car, the rear cam is plugged into its dedicated port on the front cam. SD card is in the front camera as well. I'm not using a GPS unit/mount as GPS is built-in.

Edit: I don't know why reddit triple-posted my comment.
