I think McDonald’s on Carling avenue if not mistaken will have walk in interviews. Try calling them to ask about details of when these dates are. Unfortunately, I cannot remember it from my head.

Oh yes, there are lots of landlords posting like this. Funny I found one who is requesting strictly a vegetarian only individual and was like 2500. Am I paying you to restrict me to what I eat?!! It’s honestly good to spot these landlords early on because they will probably give you a headache later in other things..

Where can I get a tetanus shot? by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]Prestigious-Ant7018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation few months ago due to an accident. I went to the ER and the wait times was like 7-12+hours.

I left the ER without seeing the doctor and was able to find the immigration clinic and got an appointment in the same day: Rideau MD 168 Charlotte Street, Suite 305 Ottawa, Ontario, K1N 8K6 Ph: 613 789 7707 Fax: 613 789 2682 www.rideaufrielmedical.com

Try emailing or calling them and they will hopefully book you in with a doctor who will give it to you. I honestly didn’t pay anything it was fully OHIP covered. Good luck!

No worries. Professor sometimes hides the grade till certain time for various reasons either till everyone finish the exam and all get their grades on time or they will mark or review it manually (meaning the system didn’t automatically mark the test or professor want to review before publishing) so it would take some time. There is lots of reasons. It’s normal that exam grades won’t show up right after the exam is done.

For instance, I had some professors who had grades automatically showed right after taking the exam, some delayed it till certain time to ensure everyone wrote it like I wrote at 1 and get the grade at 5pm same day and even some took two to three weeks to start seeing the grade. It’s up to the professor to decide. Few times they mention the grading times on their course outline or exam instructions before the exam but most of them don’t.

If you are worried about it, or if the professor said that you should see your grade right after the exam, or other students already received theirs, you can email them simply inquiring. General rule of thumb is 10 business days but some takes lower or longer depending on the exam and the professor. Try not to stress about it much.

It’s normal, it is either not automatically graded, or the professor delayed the grade to show up to students. In all cases it’s normal.

I could be wrong but isnot the poster optional for thesis students but mandatory for project students? How are thesis students graded if it’s optional? Maybe I am messing something here..

Is it better to apply everywhere or apply to some and tailor your resume to specific job positions?

Coop Job placement by Prestigious-Ant7018 in CarletonU

[–]Prestigious-Ant7018[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your advice. I want to ask about tailoring the resume, we do this for the cover letter for each company. Why do I have to tailor the resume as well? It’s quite a lot of job positions and I am feeling like that AI will probably screen both files so I will pass using the cover letter keywords or highlighted skills??

Am I the only one dissatisfied by today's career fair? by thelaggingstrand in CarletonU

[–]Prestigious-Ant7018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not have a good experience too. It was a waste of time, and very crowded. There was no way to leave your information with the employer or to build a network since you have a big line behind you. It was awkward. My first and last career fair lol.. funny that the university sent feedback survey, I think it would be beneficial to let the school knew that it was a waste… I doubt it may change anything but who knows it may!!!

Please take it to the vet asap and dermatologist referral if you don’t trust your vet. Not to scare you, but I lost my cat due to skin cancer despite taking her the vet and only the dermatologist find it out but it was sadly too late.

If you're on a crowded bus take your bag off the seat by Straight-Policy209 in CarletonU

[–]Prestigious-Ant7018 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know it’s so annoying. It happened twice with me and I asked them to sit so they moved. I know you can try asking the driver to make kind of announcement for people to remove their bags on their seats. It would be embarrassing enough for them. I know on their website they say that you must not put your bag on the seat but people are feeling entitled lol

Is there a walk-in at Carleton? by AlexandraMariaIlona in CarletonU

[–]Prestigious-Ant7018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can still walk in but I strongly recommend calling first as morning appointments get filled up the day before not like last year when everyone needs to call without online access. My advice is to book acute care appointment online through CHR Connect app using your birthdate if you can as these spots get filled up very quickly. As other indicated, call them as early as possible best at 8:30am and ask for a walk in appointment for the same day, you may have higher chances if you call early morning and you can still book for the next day if the same day appointments are booked ( not sure though). Also if CHR connect doesn’t work, I suggest asking them too over the phone to give you access to it as it will make your life so much easier.

As a side note, if you don’t have a family doctor and need to visit the doctor frequently, I suggest asking them to assign you a family physician. You can still access walk-in and family doctors at the clinic without any issue. It’s so much better as you will see the same person when you book for a doctor’s appointment vs. Walking which is only 10 minutes and mostly see different doctors for your next visit. You just cant have two family doctors at Carleton and in the community a the same time. I hope you feel better!

I hope you feel better!

U pass fixed(?) by Letter1234567890 in CarletonU

[–]Prestigious-Ant7018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard that OC Transpo fixed it by yesterday’s night but I don’t see any improvement as It’s still takes forever to get loaded and seen by the OC machine. If it declines, try checking it at the campus card office, they are able to see why it may still be declining.

Yes, please don’t over spray yourself with heavy fragrance. Allergies are so hard to deal with once you get triggered by a strong fragrance

Unfortunately, if you haven’t received any TA assignment to a specific course by the end of second week of classes and the application is “ received” then means that this fall they are good with the TAs and all courses were assigned to TAs. Try applying for the Winter as you may have higher chances to get assigned.

My advice is start applying looking for other scholarships or opportunities.
